Born Tommy Tim Taylor in Princeton, Illinois. Josh was a straight A student and a gifted athlete, recruited for his football skills to Dartmouth University. But after earning a BA degree in Sociology and a Law degree, Josh took a year off to work on an Alaskan pipeline before heading to Los Angeles to follow his true passion: Acting!

Taylor’s career started with guest appearances on such primetime favorites as Police Story, Barnaby Jones, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, The Six Million Dollar Man and a TV movie, Charlie Cobb: A Nice Night for a Hanging.

In 1981, while bartending in Burbank near NBC, Josh was “discovered” and went on to audition for the role of Chris Kositchek on Days of Our Lives. Shortly after he snagged the role, Josh landed the lead in the primetime series Riker. Hard-working Taylor did double-duty until Riker was cancelled after 5 episodes.

Josh continued to knock out primetime gigs while working at Days, such as Separate Ways, Today’s F.B.I., L.A. Law and Hotel. He landed a theatrical release titled Waltz Across Texas. In 1986, he scored the role of Michael Hogan on the show Valerie, doing double duty again.

Taylor took a break from Days, heading over to The Young and the Restless in 1993, playing Jed Saunders. He added credits on Matlock, Separate Lives, Kissing Miranda, Murder She Wrote, A Secret Between Friends: A Moment of Truth, Walker Texas Ranger, Diagnosis Murder, Stand Against Fear and a recurring gig as Dylan’s father, Jack McKay, on Beverly 90210 from 1991 – 2000.

Josh re-joined the cast of Days of Our Lives as Roman Brady in 1997. Taylor continues to fill up his resume with television, film and theater and shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

Josh resides in Los Angeles with his wife Lisa. He likes to stay in shape with weight training, martial arts, and aerobics.
