Days of our Lives just let its soap fans know what the next few months will look like. The new winter-fall trailer confirms a few things. For example, the Sofia Mattsson casting news dropped last March. We now know she will be playing a recast Chloe Lane, who will reconnect with Brady. It sets up Johnny and Chanel’s exit. And just as Dominic Marino makes his presence known to the DiMeras, we learned something we didn’t know. Another villain is back to wreak havoc. Look for George DelHoyo to return as Orpheus. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect.
Key Takeaways
- Dominic Marino’s arrival shakes up the DiMera family as his mysterious intentions come into focus.
- The DAYS fall-winter trailer confirms Sofia Mattsson as Chloe and reveals the return of Orpheus.
- Johnny and Chanel prepare for a Salem exit as romances, family secrets, and dangerous twists unfold.
What to Expect from Days of our Lives‘ Fall-Winter Trailer
The Dominic Marino Effect
It looks like Lexie’s memorial service will also be Dominic Marino’s coming-out party. “We meet at last,” Dominic (Kyle Pryor) says to EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). “And you are?” EJ asks. “I’m Dominic Marino. Hello, brother.” Dominic admitting that he’s EJ’s brother must mean that Stefano (the late Joseph Mascolo) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) are his parents. Later in the promo, Marlena and Dominic give off warm vibes.
Meanwhile, the Kiriakis family will be on high alert. Xander (Paul Telfer) asks Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) about Dominic’s interest in their family. Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) wonders why Stefano sent the newest DiMera to Salem. Mysteriously, Dominic responds with a different question: “What do I intend to do?”
Big Recasts and Returns
Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) is back. And Sofia Mattsson, formerly Sasha on General Hospital, will play Chloe, as suspected. Chloe and Brady will reconnect, which explains why he and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) ended after Xander was shot.
Closing out the entire promo is Orpheus (George DelHoyo), who will, once again, mess with Marlena and others. It has been over a year since the character last terrorized the psychiatrist.
Heartbreaking Exits
The fall-winter promo didn’t really lay out how Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Tate (Leo Howard) would leave town. However, there was plenty of set-up for Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel’s departure. Chanel (Raven Bowens) tells Johnny, “I want us out. And not just of DiMera. Of Salem.”
Johnny doesn’t quite look like he’s on board with this move. But later, Johnny confronts his dad and tells him, “There is no us anymore.” He walks out of the mansion and most likely out of town shortly after. Additionally, Rachel (Lorelei Olivia Mote) wonders why everyone she loves keeps leaving her. Will someone else exit Salem sooner rather than later? She might be talking about Tate.
Romantic Highs and Lows
Chloe (Mattsson) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) will be a new/old couple. Xander and Sarah have reunited as well. Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey) kiss in front of the Horton Christmas tree. The cop tells her federal agent husband that she needs to be reminded of how lucky she is.
But on the flip side, it looks like Chad (Conner Floyd) and Belle (Martha Madison) may have seen better DAYS. Chad might still have feelings for Cat (AnnaLynne McCord), even though he has been upset with her over her Abigail ruse.
Cat will still be entangled with EJ. While she’ll assure Rafe (Galen Gering) she has the goods on EJ, she’ll also profess her love for her boss. Will we be able to tell when Cat’s being genuine? It looks like Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip will experience heartbreak again. As far as new love, Mason (Brandon Butler) and Sydney (Sydney Malakeh) seem to connect in a big way.
Sudden Plot Twists
Speaking of Sydney, she may be the next CEO of DiMera, which is a job Johnny clearly didn’t want. Xander, Sarah, and Victoria (Angelica Nero) go on the run. There are secrets simmering and ones that explode. For both examples, we are looking at Stephanie (Abigail Klein).
She and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) are keeping something from everyone, and apparently they don’t even tell Steve (Stephen Nichols). And the Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) / Stephanie rivalry will come to a head. Although that secret is already on the verge of imploding.
Elsewhere in the promo, Arianna (Vico Escorcia) gets into it with Kate (Lauren Koslow), and Abe (James Reynolds) makes a confession, most likely about his current health. But he also asks Paulina (Jackée Harry) to move back in. Are the two reuniting? Finally, right before the Orpheus moment kicks in, there’s something that happens to Leo (Greg Rikaart), and he doesn’t look good. He actually looks dead.
What are you looking forward to the most?
