On Days Of Our Lives, Roman broke the news to Kayla of Caroline dying while he was at the hospital with Marlena and Kate, waiting to hear about Will’s health. Roman (Josh Taylor) is in a lot of stories, but he doesn’t have one of his own. Should that change? What almost 5,000 faithful fans had to say:
When In Rome
Absolutely 94% of you cheer! This is a hot, vital leading man going to waste here! So, OK, so Marlena (Deidre Hall) is off the market, thanks to that equally hot, vital leading man, John (Drake Hogysten).
But what about Kate (Lauren Koslow)? She and Roman can certainly do more than worry about Will (Chandler Massey) and Rex (Kyle Lowder). And what about Roman and Abe’s (James Reynolds) friendship. With Abe about to start working for Stefan (Brandon Barash), there is certainly some conflict to be mined there.
Slinging hash at the Brady Pub is good, honest, salt of the Earth work. But Roman can — and should — be doing more in Salem.
Dull Man Ro-Man
Only 6% of the audience is happy with how things currently are. Roman is old news. And not only is he old news, but he is also recast old news. The fans who loved Roman and Marlena fell for the Wayne Northrup version. (And they’ve mentally blocked out his return as the out-of-nowhere Alex.)

This Roman never quite did it for you…especially since he used to be Chris Kositchek, who had a minor flirtation with Marlena in the late 1980s. But, now that Caroline and Shawn are both gone, Roman can serve as the family patriarch and attentive bartender. (Just like Chris Kositchek. Then, everything comes full circle in Salem.)
