When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.
The Bold and the Beautiful: The Critic’s POV
After having spent months listening to the seemingly endless refrain “Thomas Is No Good For You, Hope,” I have no desire to spend the next several suffering through the nearly identical “Sheila Is No Good For You, Deacon” –especially when the singsong is being led by a child-woman who needs to get her own house in order.
And while I did get a chuckle out of Hope (Annika Noelle) deciding to tell her mommy on her daddy, what, exactly, does she think that Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) can do other than loop the same arguments that she, Finn (Tanner Novlan), and Hell, even Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) have proffered?
Further B&B Musings
* Though it was a comparatively small moment in the grand scheme of things, Ridge’s visceral reaction to Brooke singing Deacon’s praises was no doubt the highlight of yet another underwhelming week.
* So, Li (Naomi Matsuda) despises the very sight of Luna (Lisa Yamada) because…Poppy (Romy Park) was an *ahem* fast lady and Li didn’t approve? That’s what they’re going with? That’s the reason why Li has been retooled into a bullying shrew? That’s…a choice.
* What exactly was the message that scriptwriters were trying to send when they had RJ (Joshua Hoffman) physically halt Luna from exiting the design office and plant an unwarranted, unsolicited kiss on her? I get it’s a well-worn cliche that many might find romantic, but engaging in a lip smack after consent has been expressly given is far sexier.
