Key Takeaways

  • The BTG/Y&R crossover delivered high-stakes drama and standout interactions between Fairmont Crest and Genoa City.
  • GH’s Lucas, Laura, and Sonny alliance led to a satisfying showdown, though villains continued to evade justice.
  • Potential new pairings on B&B and DAYS sparked interest, while strong performances elevated multiple storylines.

Top 4 Standout Stories, Moments, Performers of the Week

  • #1: The Crossover, BTG/Y&R. That’s the way to do a crossover between two soaps.
  • #2: Lucas, Laura, and Sonny Alliance, GH. This alliance was unexpected but totally worth watching.
  • #3: Shawn and Jada Reconnect, DAYS. Their scenes were way too brief, but they’re a couple that oozes chemistry.
  • #4: Heather Tom, B&B. Tom relished and thrived playing Katie, a character who has clearly found her voice.

Hits and Misses Breakdown: June 8-12, 2026

Beyond the Gates

HIT: The BTG/Y&R episodes. What a dramatic way to bring together two shoes. A tornado ripped through the Fairmont Crest Country Club, which upended the lives of the Duprees, along with the visiting Abbotts and Newmans from Genoa City. From top to bottom, the action and the drama were wonderfully executed. Loved seeing the two worlds interact. And while Dani (Karla Mosley) and Bill’s (Timon Kyle Durrett) hook-up was utterly upsetting, it was messy, and messy is what soaps live for. We need more crossovers, please.
MISS: Tomas provided very little support for Kat. Kat (Colby Nixon) went through an ordeal. She and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) were trapped thanks to the tornado. And as a result, Eva was seriously injured. Kat had Eva’s blood on her hands. She was scared for her life. Izaiah (Lami) tore the place up looking for Eva. Tomas (Alex Alegria) expressed concern for Kat, but it was nowhere near the emotion we needed to see from him.
Honorable Mention (HIT): Joey’s sister, Heather, arrives on the scene. Up until recently, it felt like Joey (Jon Lindstrom) lived in a vacuum— that casino. But now we have seen where he lives. And we met his sister, Heather, played by B&B’s Ashley Jones. Jones did a great job with the Monday, June 8 episode. She made us want to see more of the Heather/Joey dynamic. And of course, she’s The Impaler. It’ll be interesting to see how she blows up her brother’s life. And whether she has any other connections in the DMV. Joey is too cool, calm, and collected. Her presence threw him for a loop. This was a good thing.

The Bold and the Beautiful

HIT: Katie and Brooke’s deal. Brooke should have “read” the fine print. Katie (Heather Tom) can no longer poach any Forresters. But she can hire all the Spencers she wants. Apparently, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) thinks of Hope (Annika Noelle) as a Forrester/Logan but not a Spencer, which she is by marriage. Katie found joy in having made this deal or promise to Brooke because it worked out totally in her favor. Even though all of Los Angeles will implode once Brooke, Steffy (Jacquelie MacInnes Wood), and Forrester Creations realize that Hope’s temporary sabbatical isn’t so temporary. And that she and Deke (Harrison Cone) have teamed up for Logan’s next great fashion line.
MISS: Keeping Hope and Deke a secret at Logan. This feels like a secret that will get old really fast. Already, Hope has had to hide away in Katie’s office so nobody will find out. And exactly why does Deke’s joining need to be a secret? Seems like announcing his hiring would stop all the questions, at least for a little while.
Honorable Mention (HIT): Dylan and R.J. When Dylan (Sydney Bullock) and R.J. (Brayan Nicoletti) were first introduced to each other when he returned to Forrester, the two had sparks. But then the show chose to have Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke’s kid pursue Electra (Laneya Grace). This week, Dylan and R.J. went on a date. And whatever their motives are, hopefully, this is the pairing that wins out, because the two are super cute together. R.J. is more likable around Dylan, and she just glows in everything that she does. Sydney Bullock is a great find for B&B. But don’t get us started on Electra’s mandate that Dylan can’t date anyone from Forrester.

Days of our Lives

HIT: Abigail accidentally shoots at Joy. Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Stephanie (Abigail Klein) giving Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) a key to their place doesn’t track at all. However, the rest of the story, featuring a struggling (and drugged up) Stephanie grabbing her gun and thinking there was an intruder, does track. Post-kidnapping, Stephanie still doesn’t feel safe, which is why she didn’t properly store her gun and the bullets. She learned a valuable lesson. Abigail Klein did a good job as Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) supported their daughter. What’s also good are the consequences of Abigail’s great big blunder. Joy understandably doesn’t want Kelsey anywhere near an unstable Stephanie.
MISS: Elia Cantu’s exit. This was probably the most disappointing soap news of the week. Jada has struggled over the years to find a viable love interest. But with Shawn (Brandon Beemer), she finally found one. And the show has flirted with them for a while, but never fully followed through. This week, we were treated to some scenes that showed us how good they could be. And what we will miss once Cantu (who sparkles in all her scenes) exits for good.
Honorable Mention (HIT): Dan Feuerriegel is this week’s MVP. It is simply fun to watch Feuerriegel as EJ DiMera. EJ’s scenes with Lexie (Nikki Crawford) were heartbreaking, while opposite Paulina (Jackée Harry), they were deliciously heated. His confrontations with Xander (Paul Telfer) were electric. As were his scenes with Gabi (Cherie Jimenez). And then he turned around and consoled Holly (Ashley Puzemis), reminding us that she had once been his stepdaughter. Feuerriegel has a way of crushing every scene he’s in, and he brings something different to each individual scenario.

General Hospital

HIT: Lucas faces down Sidwell and tricks him. Lucas’s (Van Hansis) working with Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Laura (Genie Francis) was an unexpected development. But it totally worked. The Lucas/Sidwell (Carlo Rota) confrontation was brutal when Sidwell shot his late son’s boyfriend at close range three times. But Lucas was fearless the whole time. We may have guessed he was wearing a bulletproof vest, but we were happy the PCPD backed him up. The fact that this all went down at the tennis courts that will feature Marco’s name was a nice touch. Unfortunately, Sidwell’s on the loose. That’s the only downer about this whole scenario. Speaking of which…
MISS: Villains need to lose. Fake Nathan (Ryan Paevey) let Sidwell escape. Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) jumped into the lake to get sympathy from Chase (Josh Swickard), and it was a bonus for her that he arrested Tracy (Jane Elliot). Sidwell still doesn’t know that Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) killed Marco (Adrian Anchondo). At some point, villains need to stop winning. Their reigns of terror need to come to a crashing halt before it starts up again.
Honorable Mention (HIT): Trina takes herself out of the equation. Curtis’s (Donnell Turner) and Portia’s (Brook Kerr) behavior at the baby shower was maddening. And so it was an uplifting moment when Trina (Tabyana Ali) walked out on her parents mid-fight. She sought the comfort of her friends and declared she would start living life for herself. And she would no longer put herself in the middle of her parents’ drama again. Hopefully, she’s for real with this declaration.

The Young and the Restless

HIT: Adam and Matt scenes. Friday’s scenes between Adam and Matt were so much fun. This new, regretful, apologetic, self-deprecating Matt is hilarious. And the way this version affects the stoic Newmans is just as funny. Roger Howarth and Mark Grossman played particularly well off of each other. This especially happened when Matt pointed out that Adam used to be just like him. Not as bad, of course, but yeah, Adam did terrible things and was in the doghouse forever for his choices. We also loved Matt calling himself a fangirl when talking to Cane (Billy Flynn).
HIT AND MISS: Incorporating the BTG crossover. To be honest, we didn’t know if this BTG crossover would even be mentioned on Y&R. So we were pleasantly surprised when it happened. On the flip side, we have some questions. 1) How did Victor (Eric Braeden) slip out of the DMV and get home to Genoa City so quickly? The tornado was raging, and at the very least, the storm would have made travel conditions. near impossible. 2) Diane (Susan Walters) was present in the DMV. But in Genoa City, she has been missing for a while. What gives?
Honorable Mention (HIT): Nate/Audra conversation. It was great that this conversation wasn’t about all the ways Audra (Zuleyka Silver) disappointed Nate (Sean Dominic). There was a little of that. But largely, it was about getting at what’s going on in Nate’s psyche regarding his passion for medicine versus his enjoyment of working alongside his family in the corporate world. Audra was insightful and observant. And she didn’t make it all about herself. It was a deep chat between two exes who could become friends again…someday.
