Here is the latest comings and goings casting news for the week of August 24-28 from all five daytime dramas: The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates.
Days of our Lives Casting
Matthew Ashford is back for another run as Jack Deveraux on DAYS. (Check out some interesting facts about the veteran star.) The character arrives in Salem on Tuesday, August 25, and shares scenes with Emily O’Brien when Gwen reaches out to her dad. Ashford also airs on Friday, August 28, opposite his onscreen big brother, Stephen Nichols’ Steve.
Ashford won’t be returning alone. He’ll be bringing Jack’s grandchildren with him, both of whom have been recast. Cole Gersmeyer takes over the role of Thomas DiMera, while Pippa Blaylock begins playing Charlotte DiMera on Tuesday, August 25. Thomas and Charlotte were last portrayed by Alexander Elijah Bond and Autumn Gendron, respectively.
Sydney Malakeh has been tapped to play an undisclosed role. The casting move was announced via the DAYS Instagram account. Viewers will have to wait until September 9 to find out who she’ll be playing.
Richard Wharton resurfaces as Dr. Wilhelm Rolf. Dan Feuerriegel’s EJ confronts the devoted DiMera employee on Monday, August 24. Wharton knew nothing about Rolf’s legacy or his predecessor when he inherited the role from Will Utay.
Judi Evans is back as Bonnie Kiriakis. Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) drops off his daughter, Kelsey, at the mansion, so that his stepmom can babysit on Thursday, August 27.
On the exit front, Peter Porte has wrapped up his run as Dimitri Von Leuschner. He made his last appearance on August 19.
The Bold and the Beautiful Casting
Kelly Sullivan debuts as B&B’s Darcy Dylan on Thursday, August 27—the character is Dylan’s (Sydney Bullock) mother. Sullivan previously played Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri on General Hospital (2011-2014) and followed that up with the role of Sage Warner on The Young and the Restless (2014-2016). Sullivan’s stint on Y&R earned her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2017.
Sincere Cato is back on the scene as Alex, the supervisor and bartender at the Bikini Bar. He appears on Monday, August 24.
The Young and the Restless Casting
Despite being locked up after stabbing Jack (Peter Bergman), Stacy Haiduk is resurfacing as Patty Williams on Y&R. Look for Roger Howarth’s Matt Clark to reconnect with the villainess on Friday, August 28.
Jade Harlow is back as Marie Kirkland on Wednesday, August 26. The troubled woman shares scenes with Joshua Morrow’s Nick at the rehab facility, where they’re both receiving treatment. Harlow is a three-time Daytime Emmy winner and previously played Jessica Bennett on Passions (2000-2003) and Sheryl Connors on Days of our Lives (2014).
Vivica A. Fox gets more airtime as Dr. Stephanie Simmons. Fox spoke out about resurrecting the character after decades away from daytime. She interacts with Sean Dominic’s Nate, who discusses his return to medicine with the doctor on Tuesday, August 25.
General Hospital Casting
Troy Lennon Appel is back as the cryptic Hudson Parker. The character pays a surprise visit to the Quartermaine estate, where he runs into Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Phoebe on Monday, August 24. Hudson’s interest in Phoebe raises a big question on GH.
Dean Geyer returns as Dr. Tristan Roberts. The Port Charles newbie opens up to someone about his past on Wednesday, August 26. Geyer revealed the behind-the-scenes moment that helped him feel at home on the soap.
Kathleen Gati resurfaces as Dr. Liesl Obrecht. The character wants answers on Tuesday, August 25.
Rick Hearst gets more airtime as Ric Lansing. The attorney jumps to conclusions when he spies Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) together on Tuesday, August 25.
Wes Ramsey continues to clock in as late villain Peter August. The character’s ghost keeps haunting Finola Hughes ’ Anna.
