If all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, then no Stefan, access to millions of dollars and one hell of a vendetta makes Gabi a very dangerous girl on Days of Our Lives.
After wracking her brain for the appropriate punishment to unleash upon her husband’s shooter, Gabi (Camila Banus) finally hit pay dirt: force Lani (Sal Stowers) to dump Eli (Lamon Archey) at the altar. But how on Earth to convince the very much in love Detective Price to go through with the deed?
Enter recent heart transplant recipient Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) who needed to be fitted with a state-of-the-heart pacemaker to control her touch of bradycardia. And just who happens to own the intellectual property rights to the much-ballyhooed contraption? Why DiMera Enterprises of course!
After making contact with an underling working for the company, Gabi wrangled a special device that was installed inside the pacemaker and linked to an app inside her cellphone. Now, she warned Lani, with the simple push of a button she could speed up or slow down Julie’s heart anytime she wanted.
A few demonstrations of her ultimate power ensued and Lani was finally convinced that Gabi literally held Julie’s life in her hands. And it seems that despite her clear love for Eli, Lani will be acquiescing to her blackmailer’s demands and dumping her fella good and proper.
But what do fans think about this newest manipulation on Gabi’s part? Are you pro Widow DiMera or firmly on Lani’s side? Soap Hub asked how you felt about this tinkered ticker plot and here’s how over 4,000 responded:
Over 76% percent of you offered up boos and hisses. In fact, you think this is the dumbest plot DAYS has featured in quite a while and that’s saying something considering Hope (Kristian Alfonso) now thinks she’s a portrait purloining Princess.
You wonder why Lani simply doesn’t tell someone, anyone, what Gabi is doing, have the schemer arrested and get Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to install a new pacemaker. It’s actually much simpler than how Lani is actually handling it.
Still, a little over 8% of Days of Our Lives fans find wicked Gabi’s machinations a hoot! No, you don’t really want Julie to suffer irreparable damage courtesy of Lani’s rival, but you’re enjoying all the drama associated with the storyline — and some of Gabi’s recent dialogue has been wickedly delicious.
A large percent of you — 14 in fact — say it’s too early to tell. Nothing’s really happened yet — just a whole lot of talking — so you will reserve judgment till this story really kicks into high gear. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
