Biography
William deVry Simard was born in Montreal, Quebec. Wil comes from an accomplished family. His father was a gifted college athlete. His maternal grandmother held 26 world records in track and field. His great-grandfather Herman A. DeVry founded the DeVry University.
Wil, an only child, was a world traveler as a young boy, even living in Guinea, Africa for a time, before moving to Florida with his mother at the age of 19. He dreamed of being a baseball player but that changed after taking acting classes in college.
His career started with a role on the TV series SeaQuest 2032. The following year, deVry scored a role in the movie Once in a Blue Moon. Wil began adding to his resume, such credits included The Sentinel, Poltergeist: The Legacy, Volcano: Fire on the Mountain, Viper, Dead Man’s Gun, Convictions, I Know What You Did, The Long Way Home and Nash Bridges.
In 1996, deVry landed a recurring roles on The Outer Limits, Nothing Too Good For a Cowboy and The First Wave. In 1998, Wil joined the cast of Gene Roddenberry’s Earth: Final Conflict. A year later, he joined the casts of Beggars and Choosers and Stargate SG-1.
He managed to continue to book guest appearances and movie roles despite his schedule with such projects as So Weird, Dream Storm, Dead in a Heartbeat, Port Charles, The Twilight Zone and Wildfire 7: The Inferno. In 2003, Wil booked the role of the villain fans loved to hate, Michael Cambias on All My Children.
After his stint ended in 2004, deVry booked TV movies Double Cross, Three Weeks, Three Kids and A Killer Among Us, and he joined the cast of Godiva’s, InSecurity and Nikita, while juggling the role of Storm Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Other roles he tackled during this period included In Return, Transporter the Series, Castle, NCIS, Cedar Cove and The Outsider. 2013 turned into another busy year for deVry when he joined the cast of three separate shows: Beauty and the Beast, Hemlock Grove and General Hospital.
Currently reprising the role of Julian Jerome on GH, Wil continues to live out his dream of acting. When he isn’t working, deVry divides his time in Los Angeles, Vancouver and Florida with his lady love Rebecca Staab.
