The Young and the Restless recaps for January 24 – January 28, 2022, feature a changing of the guard, a custody agreement amended, and so much more.
Chloe Michell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) are both put out to learn of Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) plan to relocate the Newman Fashion offices. Chelsea rages over Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Sally’s perceived closeness. Adam confides Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) plan to involve himself more with the company to Sally.
Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) debate whether or not Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) has fallen back in love with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). Rey is hurt when his opinion is soundly dismissed. Talk turns to the couple’s thrill at becoming grandparents to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa’s adopted child.
Abby Carlton Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) struggles with the idea of Dominic being away from her and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) delights in the news that the legalese has been worked out and that he’ll officially be sharing custody of Dominic.
Sharon takes note of Rey and Chelsea’s rapport…After chancing upon yet another argument between Chelsea and Sally, Chloe warns Chelsea that she’d better find a way to collaborate with her love rival. Adam warns Sally that she’ll lose her war with Chelsea. Sally counters that Adam is underestimating her.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) tells Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) that she’s seriously considering a job offer extended by Summer Newman Abbott. Amanda summons Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), and the two of them work to dissuade Phyllis…Michael officially resigns the position of D.A. and formally accepts Victor’s offer of employment.
Adam confronts Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) over her lawsuit for the exclusive rights to the Newman Media name…Victor spitballs selling Victoria Newman Media, but insists that Adam remaining as the company’s CEO would be a condition of the deal…Michael sizes up Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi)…Adam’s taken aback to learn that Michael has been hired by his father and that Victor is seriously considering Victoria’s offer to buy Newman Media.
Despite serious reservations, Abby acquiesces to Devon’s request for an immediate overnight visit with Dominic…Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is heartened to hear that Dominic will bear the Winters family name…Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) cautions Victoria against making herself beholden to Victor…Noah lets Adam know that he’ll be working with Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) at New Hope…Sally makes her allegiance clear: she’s team Adam all the way.
Mariah arranges a proposal all her own; Tessa happily accepts. A lovelorn Noah witnesses the exchange. He suggests that the couple let their engagement do double as a listening party for Tessa’s new album. Later, Tessa catches Noah drowning his sorrows at Society. He nearly declares his love for her but manages to cover.
A visit from Lily and Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) noisy arrival all serve to unsettle an already fussy Dominic…Abby struggles with her new normal. Chance attempts to comfort her. Chance is unnerved after receiving a letter from one of his teammate’s widows.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) returns from New York and Phyllis reveals that she’ll be heading to Milan to explore the feasibility of accepting a position at Marchetti…Victor and Victoria agree on terms for the sale of Newman Media. Ashland isn’t pleased to learn the deal was struck without his approval. Victoria makes a point of telling Adam of her acquisition.
