The Y&R spoilers recap for Thursday, June 9, 2022, brings Victor Newman coming around to Adam Newman’s way of thinking, Chelsea Lawson eyeing working with Kyle Abbott and Summer Newman Abbott, and Lily Winters completely fed up with Billy Abbott’s Victoria Newman fixation.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) gave the lowdown to Billy (Jason Thompson), who was not pleased to hear her plans, mostly worried about what this meant for their kids. They’re in school, so for now it means nothing and she’ll keep him updated on her location, when she gets around to it. Billy was not happy as Victoria took off.
Y&R: Father Knows Best
Lily (Christel Khalil) returned, thrilled that everything is working out for the company and didn’t notice right away that Billy was a mess. He admitted Victoria was there and that she’s leaving Newman and Genoa City, shocking Lily. He updated her on everything. Billy admits it was his worst fear for his kids. Lily said — enough! Don’t penalize the kids because of Victoria’s choices. She doesn’t see Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) as a threat. She thinks it’s about his inability to let go of Victoria…as her protector. She’s fed up and won’t put up with it any longer.
Victor (Eric Braeden) faced off with Ashland, but in the end, Victor left, realizing there wasn’t much more he could do as Ashland told him he had no one to blame for Victoria’s return to him but himself. Once back with Adam (Mark Grossman), Victor vowed to take down Ashland. Adam understood his frustration, since he’s done so much for her only to have Victoria throw it in his face, having lost her way.
Adam insisted he wasn’t taking a jab at Victoria as he continued to take jabs at her, mentioning all the things he did to try to reach her and help. Victor said he’s coming around to Adam’s way of thinking. Victor fears she’s making an irreversible mistake. Adam couldn’t help but wonder if she’ll flourish once out from under Victor’s shadow — that everyone may grow from this. Victor managed a small, mysterious smile.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: On the Move
Victoria arrived at Ashland’s with one suitcase, making him wonder why she’s traveling so light. He tells her Victor was there and it was sad — he saw pain in Victor’s eyes. She insists he’s the one who drove her away. Ashland reminded her of her deep familial bond. She said that’s why she wants to go somewhere outside of his reach. She’s ready…but she is worried about Billy, who wants the kids. She hopes it won’t get too ugly but she’s not worried. Ashland is.
Y&R: A New Connection?
Kyle (Michael Mealor) walked in on a discussion in the park between Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam, and she felt like he rescued her (uh oh, run Kyle!). When they met up with Summer (Allison Lanier) at Crimson Lights, she was arguing with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Summer could see that Sally was intimidated by Chelsea.
Summer said as much to Chelsea, who was surprised to hear that and then gossiped about her time working with Sally. Chelsea said she didn’t want to say more but she’s happy to work with Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson). Summer admits to Chelsea that they’re thinking of a Marchetti/Fenmore deal, asking Chelsea about the design side noting she’s at the heart of it. Chelsea loved the idea of working with them.
Y&R Spoilers: Has Hell Frozen Over?
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was enjoying some innocuous chitchat with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) when she stepped in it regarding Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and he got all huffy and was about to leave. Diane apologized to an angry Jack — for that and so much more. Like for taking time he could have spent with Kyle away from him. She apologized for not being strong enough in the way she handled things, so many regrets and amends to make to those she’s wronged.
She said he’s at the top of the list of those she wronged, as she broke down. It softened Jack, who sat back down. Diane thanked Jack for being her lunch companion. He realized it must be lonely, as she talked about having to face the damage she’s caused head-on. She acknowledged it will take a while but talking with him about Harrison and Kyle meant a lot. She said it felt almost normal and gives her hope and she has him to thank for that. Jack was stunned silent.
