The Young and the Restless fans are used to Victor Newman getting on his high horse and saying why he is morally superior to everyone else in Genoa City. While other people do bad things for their own selfish reasons, Victor only does them to protect his family. And because he had a sad childhood. Did you know his father was abusive? Did you know his mother left him in an orphanage? Because he talks about it so rarely.

Young and the Restless: The Greatest Sin

But while Victor (Eric Braeden) has forgiven those he loves pretty much anything — Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) tried to kill him, Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) banned him from his life, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) blackmailed Victor into handing the company over to her — Victor needs Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) to know that there is one sin that is absolutely unforgivable, not just to him, but to decent-minded people everywhere. Ashland faked cancer. He claimed he was dying, in order to get Victoria to marry him. There is no sin lower than that.

Nothing Like That

Hey, remember years ago on Young and the Restless when Victor was married to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), but he was in love with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson)? Nikki wasn’t in the mood to hand her husband over to the crafty chemist. So Nikki faked a terminal illness. Victor couldn’t leave the mother of his children — not when she’s dying!

So Victor stayed with Nikki, and Ashley aborted the baby she was carrying, then had a mental breakdown. Victor eventually found out that Nikki was a big, old faker. He left her. But then they reunited. Meaning that Victor presumably forgave her.

What do you think? Post a comment!

And what was the terminal illness which Nikki faked with the aid of some makeup and strategic moaning? Cancer. Nikki faked having cancer. What say you now, Victor?
