Christine (Lauralee Bell) met with Michael (Christian Le Blanc) at Society. He didn’t want to hear an insulting plea offer, and Christine told him there was a new development in the case.
Jack (Peter Bergman) brought flowers home. He and Kyle talked about Summer, noting that she ran off without a word…again. Diane (Susan Walters) came in, and Jack gave her the flowers and a book. She complained that she was sick of being cooped up in the house.

Kyle and Jack stopped Diane from running out the front door, and she went off about Phyllis. They tried to reassure Diane that everything would work out, but she worried that Phyllis would disappear, leaving her in prison.
Christine and Michael arrived, and he wanted to see the look on Diane’s face when she heard what Christine had to say. The District Attorney let them know she was dropping the charges against Diane. While Jack noted prayers are sometimes answers, Diane wanted reassurance that it was all really over. Christine assured her that there wasn’t a body, which meant no murder and no crime.
They talked about the new evidence, and Christine apologized. Diane wanted to know what would happen to Phyllis, and Christine said the list of charges against her was growing. A thrilled Kyle couldn’t wait to tell his wife.
At Crimson Lights, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Summer (Allison Lanier) shared a tense moment when she grabbed some coffee, and he got a pastry for Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant). Summer admitted she felt like she was living in a nightmare with Phyllis in hiding.
Daniel told his sister that Phyllis should come home no matter what consequences she had to face, and Summer was horrified to learn he’d told Lily the truth about the situation. Summer felt like Daniel didn’t care if Phyllis ended up in a jail cell, and he said he wasn’t used to so much chaos and didn’t like deceiving people.
Summer regretted that she’d ever even told Daniel that their mom was alive, and they chatted about what they needed to do next. Chance (Conner Floyd) showed up, and they got quiet. He let them know that they’d found evidence Phyllis was alive. The kicker? The charges against Diane would be dropped.
Summer thought Daniel was thrilled. Chance warned them that Christine would make Phyllis pay as the poster girl for the rich and powerful misbehaving. Summer wondered if Chance could help, but he admitted he couldn’t do much. He suggested that Phyllis return to Genoa City and make a statement.
Chance left, and Summer blamed Daniel once again. He wasn’t sorry about that, but Daniel told his sister they needed to work together to help their mom. Daniel didn’t buy that Summer hadn’t been in touch with Phyllis even though she denied it.
He pushed some more, and ultimately, Summer admitted she knew where their mom was. However, she still wouldn’t tell him the details. Summer suggested that Daniel could best help Phyllis by backing off.
Chance showed up at the Abbott mansion and removed Diane’s ankle monitor, and they apologized to him. Diane thanked the detective for giving her her life back.
Kyle worried that Summer hadn’t answered his texts, and Diane let him know she’d seen his wife with a large bag earlier. She also thanked her son for having such faith in her. Diane teared up, saying she’d spend her life ensuring they knew how much they all meant to her. Kyle, Diane, and Jack shared a group hug.
When Kyle left, Diane said she wanted a night out on the town celebrating her freedom. She hoped to talk about their wedding, and they shared a kiss.
Kyle went to Crimson Lights, and he spotted Summer and Daniel having a tense conversation on the patio. He wondered what they were talking about.
At home, Sharon (Sharon Case) called Nick (Joshua Morrow) on the phone to talk about the twisted gifts from Cameron (Linden Ashby). She hoped the man was still in prison just trying to get to her, and Sharon vowed to put her worries aside for the rest of the day. Nick warned Sharon that she’d have to protect herself if it turned out Cameron was out of prison.
At Newman, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) overheard Nick’s phone call and asked about “that monster” Cameron Kirsten. Nick admitted that they weren’t even sure if he’d been released from prison or not. She warned her son that they couldn’t let history repeat itself.
After she got off the phone, Sharon heard a noise at the door, so she grabbed a fire poker. It turned out to be Faith (Reylynn Caster), and she’d brought home a cute cat in a bag. The furry creature’s name was Borgnine. Faith was excited to meet her niece, and soon Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) showed up with little Aria.
They all enjoyed the baby and caught Faith up on what had happened while she was gone. Sharon insisted that nothing unusual had happened.
Of course, Nick felt more concerned about Victoria and Nate than about what might or might not be going on with Cameron. Nikki thought that Victoria seemed happy, but Nick worried it was a disaster waiting to happen, especially considering what went down with Ashland. She said Victoria didn’t need a chaperone. Of course, Nick didn’t agree, and he felt that it wouldn’t end well for anyone.
Later, Nick showed up at Sharon’s to visit with them. They discussed Noah and Allie’s trip to Europe, and then Tessa’s career came up. When they heard a knock on the door, both Sharon and Nick were jumpy.
Sharon went to the door, and she brought in a box that she sat on a table as everyone else laughed together. She stared at it and then opened it. Inside the box was a single matchbook. She picked it up and read it, looking over at Nick frantically.
Nate (Sean Dominic) showed up at Audra’s (Zuleyka Silver) with coffee. He updated her on his talk with Victor. She seemed impressed that Nate got a legend like Victor’s approval. Of course, Nate wasn’t so sure about Nick, and he complained that he needed to be taken care of. Nate suggested that’s something Audra could do.
Shirtless Cameron splashed water onto his face and looked into a mirror. “Hello there you handsome devil,” he said, welcoming himself back to Genoa City. He looked at a photo of Sharon online and had a flashback to her blackmailing him. He sat in a chair and lit a cigar.
At Society, Chance received a phone call about Cameron. “You don’t say?” he asked.
