The Young and the Restless recap brings a reckoning for Billy Abbott. Lily Winters leans on her friend, and Sally Spectra ignores her friend’s advice.
Billy actually needed Chelsea Lawson’s help, and she did her best to provide it. Meanwhile, Lily turned to Daniel Romalotti for some moral support, and she managed to cheer him up a bit. Finally, Sally ignored Chloe’s advice, but Chloe did something that might spill the beans to Nick anyway. Now let’s dive deeper into what happened today in Genoa City.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) invited a heartbroken Billy in, and she asked if he wanted to talk about it. He didn’t want to talk, so Chelsea started talking, but she stopped herself. Billy merely wanted to sit for a minute. She tried to cheer him up with a movie and snacks, and Billy finally agreed.
During what had been termed the dumbest movie of all time, Billy actually managed a bit of a smile and chuckle. He fell asleep on her couch, and Chelsea covered him with a blanket. As he slept, Billy had a nightmare, and Chelsea tried to calm him.
She realized that Billy (Jason Thompson) had dreamed of the night she tried to end her life. Chelsea wanted to know how Billy felt about it, but he said his feelings didn’t matter. Chelsea said that wasn’t right, and she cared about what Billy went through when he saved her life. She urged him to talk to her about it.
Billy opened up, noting that he froze when he walked out on the rooftop. He admitted that everything after that was just instinct. Chelsea apologized for how it must’ve been for Billy. He said he felt fear and guilt. The guilt came because he was the one who introduced her to the rooftop.
He also brought it all back to how he wasn’t able to save Delia, and Chelsea hadn’t made the connection.
“You know, in a way, this has been like a do-over,” Billy said.
Chelsea cried, apologizing again, but Billy reminded her that it was different. Even so, the “what ifs” stayed with him, and Billy admitted that he dreamed nearly every night that he hadn’t been able to save Chelsea. She hadn’t realized how big an effect everything had on him. She hated that Billy had to witness what she did, but Billy wasn’t sorry. He said the pain would’ve been the same either way. He reminded Chelsea that the world is a better place with her in it. She let him know the world was better with Billy Abbott in it too.
Lily (Christel Khalil) was quiet as Daniel tried to talk to her. He realized quickly that something was up, so he asked if she wanted to be alone. Lily said she was talked out after the longest day of her life, so Daniel agreed to be silent company. Of course, Lily went on to explain that she told Billy they were over and how Devon (Bryton James) wanted to dissolve their partnership. Lily felt like everything had fallen apart all at once.
Daniel hugged Lily and told her that she deserved better. However, Lily pointed out that she was facing the consequences of her actions. She felt like a failure in all areas of her life. Daniel (Michael Graziadei) wouldn’t let her take all the blame, though. He insisted that she hadn’t done anything wrong, and Lily admitted that she was frustrated that she couldn’t fix the situation.
Lily realized that she liked to control things, but the reality was she had no control over anything. Daniel agreed that control was an illusion. After all, they could only control themselves. Daniel promised Lily she would feel less horrible as time passes.
“You want a checklist of what not to do,” Daniel said, “I’ve got you covered.”
“Well, how long is your list?” Lily wondered. “Because I’ve checked off a few of those items already.”
Daniel reminded Lily that she was just in stage one of the hurt, though. He revealed he’d taken everything that had gone wrong in his life out on his family, driving them away. The crazy thing is Heather and Lucy leaving didn’t even wake him up at first. Instead, he went on a self-destructive tear. Daniel reminded Lily that she was a strong, kind, fair, and good person. He declared that Billy and Devon both failed her.
He also noted that Devon failed everyone. Daniel said that Devon failed not only Lily but also himself because he could be much greater working alongside Lily. Despite Daniel’s high opinion, Lily said she felt like the biggest loser, and she gently told Daniel that she couldn’t even guarantee his gaming platform project was still a go.
Ultimately Lily felt better after the discussion she hadn’t wanted to have. She thanked Daniel for being a friend, and she said she knew he’d be a success — with Omegasphere or anything else. Lily expressed her hope that Heather and Lucy saw what he was doing, and she put herself 100% behind Daniel and his project.
At Glam Club, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Noah met up. They joked around some, and Noah admitted the club was his life now. It wasn’t too long before Noah (Rory Gibson) got personal with his dad, asking how serious Nick was about Sally.
Nick changed the subject by asking Noah about Allie Nguyen. Everything was all roses for Noah and Allie, and Nick was happy for his son. However, he admitted that he and Sally weren’t in that place — yet. Noah wanted more clarification, and Nick merely said he and Sally enjoyed each other’s company without defining things. He said they didn’t want to complicate things, but Noah forebodingly warned his father that things could get complicated quickly. Nick insisted that they weren’t complicated.
In her hotel room, Sally and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) worked on their business presentation to Jill. However, Chloe wanted to talk about the elephant in the room — Sally’s pregnancy. She warned her friend that it was time for Sally to make some pregnancy decisions.
Sally didn’t want to talk about it, but Chloe refused to let her avoid the discussion. Sally insisted that a positive pregnancy test didn’t change anything, but Chloe said it could change everything. She handed Sally some prenatal vitamins, but Sally said she didn’t need them. She told Chloe she couldn’t handle everything at that moment, but she urged Sally to face the situation. She vowed to support the mother-to-be through the pregnancy.
Chloe wondered if Sally had the baby’s father’s support. Sally reminded Chloe that she and Nick weren’t serious. However, Sally said a pregnancy wasn’t in their plan at all, and no matter what Chloe said, Sally said she wasn’t ready to discuss it with Nick.
Sally decided to stop working for the evening, and she mentioned that she and Nick were going for dinner and drinks. Chloe reminded Sally that she couldn’t drink at all, and she urged her friend to face the facts about her pregnancy. Nick showed up, and he was surprised to see Chloe there. He ended up inviting her, but Chloe had to go home to her kids. They all left, but as Chloe walked out, she left the prenatal vitamins on the coffee table.
At Society, Sally was super hungry, and Nick was glad that Sally’s stomach was feeling better. He suggested drinks to toast Sally’s inevitable success, and she looked uncomfortable.
