Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH) this week or in the not-too-distant future?
General Hospital C&G News
Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The week of February 13, 2023
Adam Huss wrapped up his latest run as Nikolas Cassadine. The character was clobbered over the head by Maura West’s Ava Jerome Cassadine and left for dead. But is he… really? Nikolas has been presumed dead in the past only to do the Lazarus bit and pop back up on screen.
Meanwhile, there’s an adorable new baby girl in Port Charles. Twin boys, Nathan and Owen Ford, are sharing the role of Michael Quartermaine’s (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) daughter, Amelia Grace Corinthos.
Vernee Watson is back as Stella Henry this week. Look for the character to receive a surprise visit from someone on Tuesday, February 14.
Brook Kerr’s TV family has grown. Last week, Gavin Houston and Rico Ross debuted as Dr. Portia Robinson’s brother, Zeke Robinson, and father, Dr. Sterling Robinson, respectively. The two actors will reappear this week, as Portia’s wedding to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) begins.
Houston has been on GH before. He played Sly Thomas back in 2010. He also portrayed Jeffrey Hunter on The Haves and the Have Nots from 2013 to 2021, and appeared on Roswell, New Mexico as Theodore.
Ross is a newcomer to daytime. His credits include S.W.A.T. and P-Valley.
General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley, taking place at a hospital in an unnamed city. In fact, the setting wasn’t named Port Charles until the 1970s. General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
