The DAYS spoilers recap for Thursday, May 26, 2022, features good guy Eli Grant proving that he can lie with the best of them, Abe Carver coming clean about his feelings for Paulina Price, and so much more.
Remember when Eli (Lamon Archey) was the kind of man who stood for justice — even when it meant he was arresting his own kin for all and sundry? Yeah, those days have long passed.
Now Eli’s so desperate to keep his wife out of prison — hey, do you actually expect him to take care of those twins all on his lonesome? — that he’s resorting to playing mind games with Abe (James Reynolds).
No, Abe. You didn’t hear what you heard at all, and if you did, you heard it at a time different from when you believed it to be true.
Remember when Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) had all the answers? Remember when he could charm the pants — literally and figuratively — off of Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) without much effort? Yeah, those days have long passed.
Now, Xander can barely get Sarah to take his calls, and when she does, it’s to tell him that she’s not taking his calls. What did he ever do to deserve such treatment? Oh yeah…the whole baby Mickey thing.
In a bid to understand the female psyche, Xander set down with Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), his wife of all of five minutes, and engaged her in conversation. He didn’t exactly get the answers that he was seeking, but the exes learned that they have far more in common than previously believed.
Turns out they were both dumped by someone masquerading as the person they were dating, though in Chanel’s case, it happened twice and the “person” was the Devil. See Xander, it could be worse.
Remember when Abe told Paulina (Jackée Harry) that they didn’t have a future together because he could never fully trust her again? Yeah, he misspoke. It turns out that Abe can indeed forgive and forget…if only he’d come to that conclusion before Paulina was arrested for murder.
Remember when Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) was a priest? Eric remembers. But those days have passed. Now he’s just your average saint among men walking the earth dispensing free advice like, “Sarah, get well and truly over yourself and take that big lug Xander back,” or words to that effect.
Remember when Eric was the only man that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) had eyes for? Nicole remembers. But those days have long passed. Now, she’s got Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and a shiny new engagement ring that her daughter approves of.
But what’s going to happen now that Nicole knows that Eric is no longer a clergyman and that he might be sticking around Salem for the foreseeable future?
