Days of Our Lives’ Cary Christopher is one busy young fellow. His new horror movie, Weapons, premiered recently to rave reviews. The actor has been working non-stop, appearing in ABC’s High Potential, as well as the upcoming Spider-Noir alongside fan fave Nicholas Cage. His latest project is another major superhero spinoff that’s sure to make other actors his age green with envy.
From DiMera to DC
Cary shared a screenshot on Instagram from a Deadline article that was titled, “Days Of Our Lives Actor Cary Christopher Joins Lanterns DC Series At HBO.” He captioned it, “So excited about this 🥳,” and shared the link. The new show is part of the revamped cinematic universe from DC Comics.
According to IMDb, “Lanterns follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.” This is a major step as the intergalactic Green Lantern Corps is finally brought to life on the small screen.

Soap Vets Suit Up
The outlet described Christopher’s role in the show: “Christopher is set to play Young Noah, a polite and charming small-town kid. Quite gifted for his age and effortlessly good at whatever he tries, he’s happiest when passing a football.” Along with Chandler and Pierre, Nathan Fillion (The Rookie) will reprise his role as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, which he played in the recent Superman movie.
Fillion, who rose to fame after starring in the sci-fi cult series Firefly, played Joey Buchanan on the late, great daytime drama One Life to Live. Another soap alum appearing in Lanterns is Jason Ritter, son of the late, great comic actor John Ritter. Ritter previously played a character named Todd on Days of Our Lives. Lanterns is set to debut in 2026.
