Chad Duell — A Biography
Born Chad Lewis Duell in Chicago, Illinois. Duell attended Mountainside Middle School and Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, playing football and taking theater classes. After graduating, Chad decided Los Angeles would be the best place to launch a career in acting.
He scored two roles at Disney: Ronald Longcape Jr. on The Wizards of Waverly Place and Holden on The Suite Life on Deck in 2008. But it was March of 2010 that brought Duell his biggest break; the coveted role, opposite legendary Maurice Benard as Michael Corinthos on General Hospital.
It was very intimidating arriving on the set to replace a well-liked actor such as Drew Garrett, in a role that is part of the Port Charles dynasty, with a resume as sparse as Chad’s was, but he listened to the veterans like Maurice and Steve Burton and he gave it everything he had.
Chad Duell quickly won over the fans and the respect of the cast by just slaying every storyline the writers threw at him, with the poise of a lad more mature than his actual age. The gamble paid off and Chad earned 5 Daytime Emmy nominations and 1 win in 2015.

Significant storylines such as the murder of his stepmother, being raped in prison, trying to navigate young adulthood in the midst of an ongoing battle between two family dynasties, experiencing young fatherhood with Wiley, and finding love with Willow Tait (Katelyn McMullen) are a lot of material to cover for a young actor and Chad handled it with the ease of a pro.
