Billy Miller

Birth Name: William John Miller
Birth Place: Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
Profession: Actor

Born William John Miller II in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. As a young child, Billy spent a lot of time at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Miller suffered from a rare condition known as tarsal coalition, an illness that hit his ankles’ cartilage. He watched a lot of TV, including General Hospital.

After receiving the support he needed, Billy thrived. He attended Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, and then went on to study film production at the University of Texas, where he received his BA in Arts and Communication. Around this time, friends bet him that he wouldn’t make it in the entertainment business.

Miller moved to Los Angeles, found a job working in the mailroom of Industry Entertainment and signed with Wilhelmina modeling agency. He started booking commercials like JC Penney, Pizza Hut and After a failed audition in New York for As The World Turns, Billy soured on his management and the entertainment industry and took a break.

In 2006, Miller rebounded and booked an episode of CSI: NY, followed that up with joining the cast of All My Children as Richie Novak. His character was killed off in 2008, but Billy wasn’t fazed. He quickly booked the star-turning role of Billy Abbott on the number one soap, The Young and the Restless.

He quickly made the role his own, giving the Genoa City spoiled playboy a vulnerability and a spine. It paid off, winning Miller three Daytime Emmys. Billy added other credits to his resume while balancing his daytime job like Justified, CSI, Fatal Honeymoon, Castle, Ringer, Major Crimes and American Sniper.

In 2014, Billy left the show that served him so well but, in the blink of an eye, General Hospital announced that he had signed on to Jake Doe. The role was a gift that kept on giving when Jake Doe turned into Jason Morgan and, now, Andrew Cain.

Other roles include Garret Church in Bad Blood, Bobby in Urban Cowboy, Marcus on the series Suits and Todd Dougherty on Ray Donovan.

Billy resides in Los Angeles, where he likes to hang out with friends and dabble in commercial real estate and marketing.
