Does Anyone Remember Baby Ava on Young and the Restless?

Have Sally and Adam forgotten their lost little girl?

Courtney Hope just won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress, primarily for the scenes after Sally lost her newborn baby girl, Ava, on The Young and the Restless. Those episodes aired last June. This means it’s been roughly a year since Sally and Adam lost the daughter they’d both desperately wanted.

On the June 12 episode, Sally was busy getting back into the swing of fashion with Summer while Adam was fielding requests to change jobs from Victor. They both also discussed Connor. Neither, however, mentioned their own daughter even though last year at this time, they were awaiting her arrival. Will they remember her before the month is over?

Some Children Are More Equal Than Others

Sally (Courtney Hope) and Adam (Mark Grossman) are certainly not the first Genoa City parents to lose a child. It’s just that some are more missed than others.

Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Billy (Jason Thompson) still, quite rightfully, mourn their daughter, Delia. Delia died back in 2013. But her parents still bring her up, still dream about her (she gets older as time passes, which seems odd — do people age in heaven?), and, most importantly, still make her loss a motivation whenever they feel like doing something less than exemplary.

Traci (Beth Maitland) still reminisces about her late daughter Colleen, especially around Colleen’s best friend, Lily (Christel Khalil). And Jill (Jess Walton) used to talk about her lost son, Phillip until he turned out to still be alive.

Baby of Mine

Yet here we are, very near the first anniversary of Baby Ava Hope’s death, and Adam and Sally have yet to so much as mention it. It’s especially odd since they’ve recently reunited, and you’d think they’d see their guardian angel as a part of that.

Now, we realize that Adam is dealing with the horrific parenting that is Victor (Eric Braeden). He and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) have their hands full with Connor (Judah Mackey, who gave this BTS) and his crisis of the month.

Sally is trying to be supportive of Adam’s issues with his son, but you’d think the drama with Connor would only remind Sally more of the little girl she lost. Maybe she’s deliberately avoiding talking about Ava so that Adam doesn’t get distracted from Connor. But, if that’s the case, it sure would be nice to know.
