The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, February 21, 2022, brings details of Phyllis Summers breaking Summer Newman Abbott’s heart and giving Jack Abbott some unexpected news. Meanwhile, Abby Chancellor and Chance Chancellor give Devon Hamilton an unexpected gift. Plus, Tessa Porter and Mariah Copeland experience wedding planning woes, but Noah Newman may just have the solution.
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) video chatted with her daughter, Summer (Hunter King). Of course, the latter wanted to know her mom’s decision on the job offer. It wasn’t easy, but Phyllis let Summer know she decided to stay in Genoa City. Although Summer felt sad that her mom wouldn’t be moving to Italy, she wanted Phyllis to be happy. However, she did ask if Phyllis’s decision had anything to do with Jack (Peter Bergman), which Phyllis denied. We know, we know. You’re just friends, Phyllis. Sure.
Speaking of Jack, Phyllis let him know the name of the owner of the strange address in Los Angeles that the mysterious texter sent. It was none other than Hal Nguyen. Stunned, Jack relayed that his late wife Luan Abbott’s dad’s name was Hal Nguyen, but there’s no way the owner of the property at that address could be the same guy.
Well, what kind of wedding would work well for Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes)? They toss out ideas like a couple’s massage ceremony, Dollywood, a trolly in San Francisco, and many more.
However, they ultimately pare their enormous list down to three. That’s when they hit Crimson Lights for some help from family and friends. Tessa and Mariah presented Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), Noah (Rory Gibson), Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster), and Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) with three ideas — a murder mystery wedding, a Chicago museum wedding, or a music festival wedding. Not surprisingly, each person picked something different, which left Noah as the tiebreaker.
Mariah begged her brother to tell them which one would work, so he said they should do all of them. Noah encouraged Tessa and Mariah to go with the theme All of Me. That way, anything they wanted could be part of the wedding, and the brides-to-be adored his input.
It was a big day for Dominic Many Names. Devon (Bryton James) had his bone marrow harvested off-screen, and this was the day for Dominic to get the transplant. Abby (Melissa Ordway), Chance (Conner Floyd), Devon, and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) waited anxiously at the hospital while doctors worked on Dom.
Later, after they got back to the Chancellor mansion where Devon had set up state-of-the-art nursery care complete with a 24-hour nurse, Devon couldn’t stand to leave his son. Abby and Chance graciously invited Amanda and Devon to stay at their place — after all, they have plenty of room. Could this be the beginning of an even stranger living situation?
Also on the episode, Faith and Moses discussed their college possibilities, and after Moses said he may stay in town at GCU, a rather deflated Faith mentioned she might do the same. Moses worried her parents wouldn’t appreciate that, though.
Jack happened to run into Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) at The Grand Phoenix, and they shared a short conversation. During it, she teased him about Phyllis, and then he tried to turn it around on her by wondering if she’d had mysterious rendevous in New York City while meeting with her publisher. Traci shocked her brother by insinuating that she did have a lover in the city.
At Abby and Devon’s urging, and after Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) confronted him recently, Chance called Sharon for a therapist recommendation. It seems he’s ready to get the help he needs.
