Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?

Soap Opera Casting for the week of January 2, 2023

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.

General Hospital

Kelly Thiebaud slipped off into the night as Dr. Britt Westbourne, when the clock struck midnight on General Hospital’s New Year’s Eve episode. The actress , who made her debut on the soap opera in 2012, popped up earlier this season on Station 19, reprising her role as Eva Vasquez. She’s in pre-production with a new film, Shakey Grounds.

Anthony Montgomery popped back in as Dr. Andre Maddox, Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) old friend and former psychiatrist. Montgomery premiered on GH in 2015, but exited in 2017 when his character was sent to prison. He returned briefly in 2018 and again in 2019.   

The Bold and the Beautiful

Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) longtime partner in crime is back on the scene at The Bold and the Beautiful.  Ken Hanes reprises his role on the soap opera as Mike Guthrie on Wednesday, January 4.

Los Angeles top cop pops in for another appearance too. Dan Martin airs as Deputy Chief Baker on Monday, January 2.

Naomi Matsuda returns as Dr. Li Finnegan, John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) mother. She appears on Wednesday, January 4 and Thursday, January 5.

Days of our Lives

A pair of Christmas guests exited Days of our Lives. Lamon Archey completed his holiday visit as Eli Grant on the soap opera. The character and his twins, Jules and Carver, headed back home to Maryland.

Patrika Darbo wrapped up her one-day stint as Nancy Wesley, too, after Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) visited her mother in New York.

Meanwhile, Kyle Lowder continues his story arc as Rex Brady. He’ll be prominently involved in storyline this week with Lauren Koslow’s Kate Roberts, Stephen Nichols’ Steve Johnson, and Mary Beth Evans’ Kayla Brady Johnson.

Finley Rose Slater gets more airtime as Rachel Black. Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) daughter is back on the scene Monday, January 2.  

The Young and the Restless

James Hyde’s run as Jeremy Stark on The Young and the Restless has been extended. The actor was originally hired for one episode with the potential to be recurring. However, two months after his October 21 premiere, his character is still going strong. Hyde recently told Soap Opera Digest that he’s “got stuff still coming up” into the new year.  

B&B is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR). The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
