The Tokyo Olympics are taking over NBC for the next two weeks but that’s no reason to not get your Days of our Lives fix. Today, we’re taking a look back at Lani Price-Grant and Eli Grant’s most impressive and memorable moments. Their romance is on solid ground but it wasn’t always that way.
The Best of Eli and Lani on DAYS
There’s nothing like two of Salem’s finest to give romance a go. Top cops Lani (Sal Stowers) and Eli (Lamon Archey) fell hard, fast, and completely for each other. It didn’t take long for the couple to profess their love, give in to their desires, and start carving out a life together.
As with every soap couple, their first shot at happiness would not last long. Even after helping Lani through a secret addiction, she eventually found her way back to JJ Deveraux’s bed. She then had the who’s the daddy story of the year with a deeply tragic end. Her son was revealed to be Eli’s but they lost their little David.
It was hard for this couple to not spiral out of control after that. Their love story fell apart, turned dark, and Lani went down a path of yearning so hard for motherhood she obsessed over a new baby David.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) set her sights on ruining Lani’s life after the horrifying shooting death of Stefan DiMera. She blackmailed Lani into submission using Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) bionic heart as a target. Poor Lani had no choice but to dump Eli and take off.
Lani tried to reclaim some joy by becoming a nun but being married to God was not the same as being Eli’s bride. She came back just in time to stop Gabi from becoming Mrs. Grant. She quickly reclaimed her man, got his ring back on her finger, and has spent the last year in wedded bliss.

It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB).
