Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless?

Soap Opera Casting For The Week of September 11, 2023

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.

General Hospital

Longtime General Hospital vet John J. York will be MIA for a while as Mac Scorpio. The actor shared the news on Twitter/X. “Just want to let you know that I will be taking a brief hiatus from the show in a few weeks,” he posted. “I’m in the process of getting some important information. So hang tight, and I’ll be in touch.”

Joshua Benard pops back in as Adam,  a college classmate of Eden McCoy’s Josslyn Jacks, this week. The actor is the real-life son of Maurice Benard, who portrays Sonny Corinthos.

Meanwhile, Matthew Kimbrough is playing Judge Jarrett. The character will be presiding over Sonny’s upcoming arraignment.

Jeff LeBeau makes another appearance as FBI Agent Moss. He was one of the lawmen involved in Sonny’s arrest.

Also, that was Guy Noland, who played Steve. The dock worker warned Carly (Laura Wright) about the sting operation involving Sonny’s organization

The Young and the Restless

A familiar face is heading back to The Young and the Restless. Hayley Erin, one of many actresses who have played Abby Newman, has been cast in a new role. She’s set to play Claire Grace, a newcomer who’ll find employment at Newman Media this fall. Erin’s last soap role was as Kiki Jerome on General Hospital.

Veronica Redd is bringing Mamie Johnson back to Genoa City. The former Abbott housekeeper and great-aunt to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Devon Winters (Bryton James), and Nate Hastings Jr. (Sean Dominic) will begin airing at the end of the month. Redd made her last appearance on the soap in March.

Jess Walton is also back at the studio filming episodes as Jill Abbott, Billy’s (Jason Thompson) mother. There’s no word yet on her first airdate. Might we once again see Jill and Mamie spar?

Days of our Lives

Two of the good guys are set to resurface on Days of our Lives. Christopher Sean returns as Paul Narita on Thursday, September 14. He’ll interact with Drake Hogestyn’s John and Deidre Hall’s Marlena.

Colton Little also returns as ISA agent Andrew Donovan on Thursday, September 14. Look for the character to interact with his TV sister, Jen Lilley’s Theresa Donovan, and others. Sean and Little made their last appearances in May.

Sarafina King pops back in as Joyce, the hit woman EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) hires to eliminate Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). She’ll have scenes with Feuerriegel and Elia Cantu’s Jada Hunter on Wednesday, September 13.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Over at The Bold and the Beautiful Oliver Bell airs as Forrester Creations intern Ginge on Thursday, September 14. The character will interact with Katherine Kelly Lang’s Brooke Logan and Joshua Hoffman’s R.J. Forrester.

Alex Gaube and Riley Rasmussen are back for another appearance as models Petra and Sloane, respectively. Look for the pair to air on Tuesday, September 11.
