The Young and the Restless Recap: Things Get Icy For Sally and Phyllis

The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, September 2, 2021, takes place primarily at the launch party for Newman Media, where you’d think the guests would have more important topics on their minds than Sally’s presence, Billy commits an actual crime – and potentially takes other people down with him, and Devon comes to the utterly surprising (to him) realization that he has a son…but he really doesn’t.

When Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) enters with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) on his arm, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) makes a face. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) takes it up a notch and informs the younger woman that she is a complete loser, her future is doomed, she will never have any pleasure in life, and she deserves it. That’s…rational.

Later, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) feels compelled to warn Adam about the woman Jack dated for a hot minute, and Adam basically just met. Because she is such a threat, no man is safe! Then Nikki tells Sally that no one in the room wants Sally there. Honestly, it’s kind of a compliment that everyone thinks she’s such a force and worth their vitriol!

Phyllis drops by to rub it in. No one in the history of Genoa City has ever been as evil as Sally! It’s why Adam will end up kicking her to the curb and why she’s the town pariah. Sally and Phyllis are nothing alike! So Sally throws a drink in her face. And Phyllis dumps water on her head. Yup, nothing at all alike. How could anyone have thought differently? So Sally grabs Adam for a kiss.

Y&R: Break-In

Billy’s (Jason Thompson) version of investigative reporting is to…get a young woman to risk her job to let Billy into the room where Adam and Victor (Eric Braeden) have locked up their papers. Nick (Joshua Morrow) catches him. Hope he has a good excuse! He just kind of leaves without a reply.

When Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) offered to donate sperm to father Abby Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) baby, it never crossed his mind that, when the baby was born, Devon would feel a connection to the child. It just hit him. He’s confused.
