Y&R Spoilers For May 27: Chelsea Lawson Suffers Another Setback

The Y&R spoilers for Friday, May 27, 2022, find the grown-ups circling their wagons to protect poor, wittle Kyle Abbott, as Jack Abbott looks out for his son, and Phyllis Summers recruits Summer Newman Abbott to gang up against Diane Jenkins. Also, the world continues to revolve around Chelsea Lawson – at least in her own mind.

The Y&R Spoilers Highlights

No one is disagreeing that Kyle (Michael Mealor) can’t take care of himself. The guy ping-ponged between Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) for months.

Every time the question of Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) paternity came up, Kyle would stand there, chin quivering and looking like a deer lost in the headlights while the adults around him discussed practicalities.

So is it any wonder that no one can trust him to deal with his mother coming back from the dead? Jack (Peter Bergman) promised to let Kyle make his own choices regarding Diane (Susan Walters). But that doesn’t mean he can’t step in to instruct Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) about Harrison. After all, Jack may love his boy, but he knows Kyle’s limitations. No way can Kyle stand up to Ashland on his own.

Summer knows it, too, which is why she did most of the talking the last time she and Kyle bumped into Ashland. And why she is so open to Phyllis’s (Michelle Stafford) suggestion that they join forces to protect Kyle from his mother. After all, not every mother is as wonderful as Phyllis.

With Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) death being all about Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) – in her mind, at least, is it any wonder that Chelsea thinks Summer buying a fashion company should be about her, too? She does get so upset when all happenings aren’t about her – or at least, precious Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
