The Y&R spoilers for Thursday, August 5, 2021, might just bring our long, national nightmare that is Phyllis Summers on the edge to an end, as Summer Newman finally issues an apology – we can only hope it’s for her mother’s unhinged behavior. Meanwhile, Amanda Sinclar is past the apology and into the vengeance stage when it comes to her grandfather. Will Devon Hamilton talk some sense into her – or ask what he can do to help?
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is convinced the world conspired to drive her precious Summer (Hunter King) out of Genoa City (well technically, she’s not wrong). Summer has insisted that wasn’t the case. Summer has begged her tiger mom to drop it.
But when neither Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) nor Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) instantly bought Phyllis’s conspiracy theories, she continues hammering Summer – until her daughter breaks down and confesses that yes, Mama was right all along.
Summer left town because Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) arranged for her to receive a dream job offer…and Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) threatened to keep Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) from his son. We all know what a shy, retiring, blushing flower Summer is. How could she possibly stand up to such evil manipulation?
Y&R spoilers remind Amanda (Mishael Morgan) used to think her biggest grudge against Grandpa Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) was that he forced her mom, Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey), to give up her baby girls at birth. This caused her to bounce around foster homes and never know that she had a twin in Hilary Curtis.
But now Amanda knows that Sutton also killed Amanda’s biological father – and convinced Naya to take the blame for it. Amanda is out for some payback. Devon (Bryton James) has supported her in all other aspects of Amanda’s search for her roots. Will he have her back for this latest turn of events?
