The Y&R spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 6, 2022, brings an awkward moment between Chelsea Lawson and Billy Abbott before she asks Adam Newman something stunning. Adam also tells Victor Newman about his new job, Faith Newman prepares to leave, and Mariah Copeland and Tessa Porter make a new family plan.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Billy (Jason Thompson) ran into each other at Chancellor Park. Things were somewhat awkward, but Chelsea excitedly asked Billy if he’d had time to talk to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) about telling Johnny the truth about his and Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) biological relationship.

Then, Billy encouraged Chelsea to continue with the podcast, but she said she wanted to put it all behind her. Chelsea talked about how much she hated being in such a weird place. She had hoped to rebuild her life in Genoa City, but instead, she’s rudderless and doesn’t even really know what she wants anymore.
Later, Billy told Lily (Christel Khalil) he’d had a chat with Chelsea, and she wasn’t too thrilled about it. She asked Billy if they’d had any more miscommunication — or kisses — and Billy assured her that he and Chelsea hadn’t. Even so, Lily didn’t look entirely pleased about the situation, which makes it seem like she’s not quite as cool with Chelsea kissing Billy as he might have thought.
As for Chelsea, Adam happened upon her in the park, and they talked a bit. She asked her ex if she could take Connor to spend some time with her mom, and Adam looked absolutely stunned by her request.
Young and the Restless: Family Drama
Before that, at the ranch, Adam visited his father. Victor (Eric Braeden) hoped it was a friendly or at least civil visit. Adam got right down to business — he accepted a job as co-Chief Executive Officer at Jabot. Victor felt Adam was continuing his quest for revenge, but Adam denied it. They argued back and forth a bit, and Victor got quite worked up. He didn’t like his son’s decision, but Adam remained unmoved.
Earlier, Lily had a conversation with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) at Chancellor-Winters. They briefly discussed her new position and podcast with the company. Lily asked Elena to give her the lowdown on how Nate (Sean Dominic) felt about work and the tension with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Elena was open with her and told her that Nate felt Devon didn’t respect him, which Lily said she didn’t quite see. Elena offered to talk just as friends, but she warned Lily that she might not love what is said.
Also, Imani (temporarily Denise Boutte) returned instead of Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), and she wasted no time talking to Nate. They ended up going to Society to eat since she hadn’t had time to grab a bite. At Society, she encouraged Nate to really make his mark while Devon was out of town with her sister. He looked like he was considering her words very seriously. Imani thought he should really show Devon who he was, which is sure to lead to drama.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Goodbye
Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) lamented their bad news on the adoption front. Sure, they both had some criminal acts in their pasts, but they’ve moved on from that and felt they’d make wonderful parents for a child in need. After they talked a while, Tessa had a great suggestion. Why not choose somebody who knew them and who would truly advocate for them? Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) fits that bill perfectly, and they felt she’d be able to help them get the child they’re so ready to provide a home for.
Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) sat around Crimson Lights, waiting to take Faith (Reylynn Caster) to college. They talked a bit, and Nick admitted that Adam had given him some good advice to talk with a therapist. Of course, Sharon knew her ex-husband well enough to realize that Nick wouldn’t want to tell everything to a stranger, but she talked it up anyway.
Then, Faith showed up, and she had gotten just about everything completed before heading out to college in Michigan. Of course, the car was packed to the brim. Sharon teared up a bit, and Faith told her mom to stop with the waterworks. When Mariah and Tessa showed up, she got to cross the last thing off her list and say goodbye to them. They gave her a present but made her promise to wait to open it until she arrived at school. After that, they made lots of other promises and hugged goodbye.
Coming Up Next On Y&R Spoilers:
Coming up tomorrow, Billy challenges his brother Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) leadership at Jabot. Most likely, he’s not okay with Jack hiring Adam as his co-CEO. Of course, given what happened the last time he worked at Jabot, Billy might not have all that much say about what goes on there, especially since Jack has been a pretty steady leader.
You can also expect Adam’s ex, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), to get yet another warning from Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson). She’s firmly anti-Adam, and she’s made that very clear to Sally in recent weeks. Now that Adam’s apologized to Sally and seems to want a possible second chance, Chloe probably isn’t going to handle that very well. Be sure to check out the daily breakdown below to find out what else is happening.
