The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, September 16, 2022, brings Nate Hastings enacting his ruthless plan, and Victoria Newman is part of it.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) couldn’t quite believe it, but her brother, Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) went to bat for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), and he insisted on giving her another chance. Then, Sally busted in, and she told Victoria she planned to do better from that moment forward. She even noted that Victoria was her role model for how to move forward at work amid personal problems.

Nick was still there, which made for a bit of awkwardness. Then, he asked Sally to go for coffee to discuss another “matter,” and she agreed to make time. They grabbed a cup of joe and headed to Chancellor Park. She nervously made small talk, and Nick called her out on it. They both expressed their hope that they could be honest with each other.
So, Sally told Nick that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) visited her after he’d dropped her off the other night. She admitted that Adam made some declarations, and Nick said he knew Sally felt strongly about his brother. He even offered to step aside if Sally wanted to get back together with Adam, and Nick said she had to sort that out without him being a factor.
She admitted that her judgment hadn’t been great, and she planned to stay laser-focused on Newman Media and her job. However, she declared that she can’t afford to screw up again, and she told Nick she appreciated his understanding. Of course, when they stood up to head back to the office, they both looked deeply into each other’s eyes, and instead, they ended up at Sally’s suite hitting the sheets…again.
In the afterglow, they both expressed their disbelief that it had happened again. Nick noted that their attraction surprised him, and she agreed. Nick pointed out how unexpected and surprising it was, but Sally suggested they order room service, shower, and eat lunch instead of analyzing it to death. Oh…and then they could get back to work.
Just as they were about to give up on room service and head back to work, Sally answered a knock at the door. Instead of their lunch, it was Adam, and he saw Nick there and instantly realized something was up.
Young and the Restless: The Afterglow
Adam showed up at Newman Media looking for Sally, but Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) was the only one there. She informed him Sally was in a meeting with Nick, which made Adam question whether or not Victoria and Nick were being more hands-on with the company. Chloe basically told Adam it wasn’t any of his business and then continued to tell him off. Ultimately, Adam told Chloe to stop with the abuse, and when he left, she texted Sally and told her to stay away from Adam.
Adam went upstairs to see his sister, and not surprisingly, Victoria had some snark about Adam’s new job at Jabot. After they traded barbs, Adam asked about Sally, and Victoria told him that her COO, Nick handled employee issues. Victoria expressed her hope that Nick was letting the Newman Media CEA know she was replaceable if she failed to step up her game.
Adam continued to advocate for Sally, and Victoria wondered why. She advised her brother to leave Sally alone entirely, especially if he actually cared about her. Adam said he was evolved and trying to right a wrong. He did admit that he loves Sally. Victoria didn’t quite buy that her brother had such altruistic motives, though.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: A Ruthless Plan
Things at Chancellor-Winters got contentious when Imani Benedict (temporarily Denise Boutte) stood up for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) wasn’t having it, though, and then Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) got in on things. Lily snapped at Imani over her insinuating that they just let Nate go without a fight, and then she apologized, smoothing things over. She asked the lawyer to proceed as if Nate wasn’t coming back and look into his contract.
When Imani left, both Lily and Devon realized that Imani had a thing for Nate. However, more importantly, Devon took Lily to task for acting as if Chancellor-Winters going public was a done deal. She defended herself, telling her brother they both had to make the decision together. However, Devon told Lily that Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton) was also in on it, which left him as the odd man out as the only one who wasn’t gung ho about the change.
At their penthouse, Nate woke up late, and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) said she let him sleep in. He wasn’t in a great mood, and then Elena asked if he still had his big plan. She urged him not to move forward, but he said he planned to go forward full speed ahead, which Elena disliked.
Nate ran into Imani at Crimson Lights. He let her know that he planned to be more ruthless when it came to Chancellor-Winters. After he left, he showed up at Victoria’s office, offering her a proposal, and she was intrigued. Nate let the Newman Enterprises CEO know that Jill planned to take Chancellor-Winters public, which surprised Victoria. He offered to be Victoria’s inside man so that she could buy up shares of the company, making Newman Enterprises the majority share owner. Victoria questioned why Nate would do such a thing.
Later, Elena and Devon crossed paths at the coffeehouse, too. They talked a bit about Nate leaving Chancellor-Winters, and Devon noted that it was for the best. Then, Lily also walked in and asked to speak with Devon privately, and Elena left. Lily told her brother how upset she was that Devon had been so unfair to Nate. She blamed him for the tension, and she expressed her desire to keep Nate as part of the business.
