The Y&R spoilers recap for Thursday, October 13, 2022, brings Nate Hastings dumping the truth on Lily Winters and Devon Hamilton about his duplicitous plan to take over Chancellor-Winters, obliterating their Initial Public Offering plans.

Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights

Nate (Sean Dominic) tried to talk to Lily (Christel Khalil) and Devon (Bryton James) alone. However, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) pushed back, so Nate decided he wanted everybody to hear it from him. Nate admitted he hadn’t been operating in good faith for the Chancellor-Winters IPO. He confessed the entire plan without mentioning Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) by name.

Devon immediately thought Nate did it because of their animosity. Nate told his cousin he was wrong, and then he explained that his goal in talking to another chief executive officer was to create an opportunity for Chancellor-Winters. Nate said he’d needed to find a way to create the break for himself that Devon had refused to give him.

Billy called out Nate and told him to be honest. He went off about how Nate sold out his mom, Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton), as well as Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John). Devon also tried to get Nate to answer his question about the other CEO installing him at the helm of Chancellor-Winters, and Nate didn’t deny the accusations. Devon went on about how Nate’s problems with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) had to have been caused by his plan.

Lily pointed out that it had been Nate’s idea to speed up the IPO, and Devon thought that Nate sold them out to Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John). Nate refused to say who it was, and Devon assumed it was Tucker, and then he fired Nate. Billy asked Audra what it meant for the IPO. She asked Nate how much information he had revealed, and Nate admitted it was enough for somebody to have financing in place to make their move.

Lily told Audra to hold off on filing the papers. She told off Nate for doing what he did, reminding him that they wanted the IPO to pursue their collective vision for Chancellor-Winters. She said the whole company would be taken from them, and she couldn’t understand why. Billy said he understood what Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) saw in him now, and Nate refused to explain his motives to Billy.

Lily wanted him to explain it to her. Nate admitted it was his frustration at losing his career in medicine, and he was happy to have another opportunity at Chancellor-Winters. He said he’d thrown himself into the job, taking pride in what he was doing, regaining his sense of purpose. He talked about how Devon had shut down his ideas without even discussing them. He accused Lily of not making Nate a priority, but Billy said none of that justified stabbing them in the back. Nate said he just grabbed a different opportunity to be heard and respected when it came along. Ultimately, Lily told Nate to get out.

As Elena prepared to leave their penthouse, Nate showed up, and he told her that he’d told everybody what he’d done. She asked what happened, and Nate told her he got fired after everybody freaked out — he did it all for her.

Young and the Restless: Second Chances

Tucker knocked on the CEO door at Jabot, and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) invited him in. They had some back and forth, and Tucker noted he was there to go to the lab. Tucker praised Adam for getting out from under Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) thumb, but Adam wasn’t having it. He pointed out that Tucker hadn’t done a great job with his own son, Devon.

At the Abbott mansion, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) noticed the gift Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) had trashed. Ashley admitted it was from a Japanese tea ceremony she’d had with Tucker long ago, and Traci wondered if Tucker really had changed. Ashley was under no illusions that a narcist like Tucker had changed, and she pointed out that he’d always been a master manipulator.

Then, Ashley dropped the bombshell on Traci that she suspected Tucker and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) had been involved in Los Angeles. Traci was gobsmacked by the idea, and she wanted to know why Ashley thought that, but Ashley had to leave for work.

When Ashley showed up at Jabot, she was furious to find Tucker there. Tucker told her he understood why she was angry, but Ashley reiterated that she was annoyed but felt indifferent toward him. Tucker argued his case, but Ashley wasn’t impressed. He invited her to dinner, and he swore to back off if she still felt the same. She explained that there wasn’t a chance for them at all — Tucker is nothing but her ex-husband. Ultimately, she agreed to one dinner only with the caveat that Tucker stay away from her after that.

Devon showed up at Tucker’s door at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Tucker said he didn’t have much time, but Devon told him to make time. He asked his dad if he returned to Genoa City to go after Chancellor-Winters. Meanwhile, Ashley waited alone at a table at Society.

Y&R Spoilers Recap: A Dream Date

At Chancellor Park, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) ran into Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). He wanted to know if she’d had time to think about their relationship, and she told him she had and she had a question. Sally hesitantly asked Nick to spend time together during the weekend, just the two of them — she hoped to do something fun and different.

She suggested skydiving, hot air ballooning, and a pinball tournament, which Nick loved. Of course, she was joking, but she suggested they go out to the lake with a picnic and then skinny dip (in the fall). Nick wondered how he could think about anything other than Sally’s plan during the workday, and he agreed to the date.

At Jabot, Adam was alone in the office, and he flashed back to Sally, telling him she was falling in love with him. He continued remembering a highlight reel of their time together.

Sally showed up at Newman Enterprises, and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) noted her boss’s good mood. Sally said it had to do with seeing Nick in the park, and then she admitted they’d decided to take their whole relationship as it comes. Chloe was diplomatic about it, and Sally wanted to know why, and Chloe admitted how much she liked Nick. Chloe pointed out how complicated the whole situation was for Sally, and she said that even an allusion to Adam made Sally’s smile disappear. Ultimately, Sally declared she was focusing on the positive and not the confusing things in her life.

Later, Chloe brought in a formal invitation that Sally had received at the office. Sally opened it with a smile, and it was an invitation to dinner on The Grand Phoenix rooftop signed “N.” Later, Nick showed up at Newman Media looking for Sally, and Chloe said Sally had already left for Nick’s romantic dinner invitation, which he knew nothing about. On the rooftop of the hotel, Sally showed up to a fancy table set for two, but instead of Nick, it was Adam who showed up, shocking Sally.
