The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, October 10, 2022, brings a huge bombshell from Billy Abbott, leaving Lily Winters unsure how to move forward from it.
Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) blew into the Abbott mansion only a day late, and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) wondered why she hadn’t returned his calls. Then, he warned his sister to brace herself as he filled her in. She absolutely could not believe it. Ashley felt it was over the top, even for Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), and she seemed shocked that she was the only person Tucker had asked about.
Ashley couldn’t understand why Tucker would want to see her because she hadn’t seen or talked to him in years. Jack wasn’t happy, but Ashley wanted to know why her brother was so upset since Tucker helped them get Jabot back. Jack insisted that Tucker wasn’t good enough for Ashley, and she recalled how unfaithful he was — he cheated on her with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Harmony Hamilton. She recalled how hard she had to work to get over the pain of those betrayals. That’s why Jack told Tucker Ashley didn’t want to see him, but Ashley thought perhaps she should see her ex.

Jack wasn’t at all happy to hear that Ashley would consider seeing Tucker. She said that there was no way he came back just for her, though. Jack agreed that Tucker was up to something, and Ashley said she thought his return so soon after Diane’s was suspect for sure. Jack accused Ashley of jumping to conclusions, and she declared herself the perfect person to find out what Tucker’s real agenda in Genoa City was. Jack wished his sister good luck.
At Society, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) invited Tucker to join her at her table after some snarking back and forth. They discussed Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) visit, and Nikki said that Tucker wasn’t forthcoming with her husband, but Tucker called it a disingenuous characterization of their conversation.
All that was neither here nor there, though. Nikki gave Tucker a warning. She pointed out that Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) messed with them, and now he’s gone, and Tucker said he was warned. Nikki said that Genoa City had no space for people who wanted to harm the city’s respectable families.
At Marchetti, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Diane recapped their kids’ vow renewal, and complained about Tucker arriving in a helicopter to steal the show. Phyllis especially wondered why Tucker thought the kids would want a Bentley, and she asked Diane if she knew why he’d give them that. Diane reminded Phyllis that Tucker had reminded everybody that John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) had a similar car, so she felt maybe Tucker was trying to get into everyone’s good graces.
Diane went on about how that car was out of her league, and Phyllis suggested that Diane ask the kids if she could drive it. Diane got snippy with Phyllis about what she meant, and Phyllis said she was just trying to make banal, safe conversation with her. Diane quickly made her exit, and Phyllis talked to herself about what a liar Diane was. She predicted everything would blow up in Diane’s face.
Diane walked into Society, and Tucker invited her to join him and Nikki. Diane wondered if she needed to be a referee between them, but the latter said she could take care of herself. Tucker asked Diane to sit down, and then he told them both about his near-death experience in a car racing accident in Europe. It seemed that Tucker got too interested in fast vintage cars, and he ended up being pulled from a burning car in Monte Carlo.
Tucker commended Diane for the inroads she’d made since faking her death, and Nikki quickly picked up on that. She wanted to know how Tucker would have a clue about Diane’s actions since he’d only been back for two days. Both Diane and Tucker looked uncomfortable. He played it off by pointing out that she’d been at the ceremony, so it was obvious. Tucker asked to pick Diane’s brain about how she earned redemption, but she shot all that down. Nikki pointed out that Diane wasn’t sincere, and she suggested that the two could bond over plenty of shady things. Diane’s order was ready, so she left after a bit more snark with Nikki, and then Tucker also left, giving his best to Victor.
Jack showed up at Jabot, and Phyllis walked in with some information about Marchetti. Jack asked her to send an email, and Phyllis asked if Jack needed to talk. He admitted that he was upset about Tucker’s return and Ashley’s decision to meet him. Phyllis tried to make Jack feel better by pointing out that Ashley could take care of herself, but Jack was furious that Tucker wanted to try to win Ashley back by apologizing. Phyllis wouldn’t make Jack feel better, though, because she admitted she always hung onto the hope that forgiveness was possible.
Ashley greeted Tucker at the Abbott mansion, and he told her all the right things about how much he missed her. Ashley wasn’t interested in compliments or pretty speeches, though. She wanted to know why Tucker returned to Genoa City.
At Crimson Lights, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) was trying to get a coffee, and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) was there. She remembered his coffee order, but he didn’t seem thrilled to see her. Noah cut straight to the chase and asked her how long she planned to stay. Audra apologized for the way things fell apart in London. She brought up Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang), and Noah called her out on belittling his girlfriend. Audra suggested he was in love with Allie, and he told her to keep her distance while she was in town so that he could enjoy the happiness he’d found.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) met up at Chancellor Park, and Victoria wanted the lowdown on Audra. Nate explained how sharp she was and thorough she was with her work. He promised Victoria he’d be able to keep her updated on what Audra was doing with the Chancellor-Winters Initial Public Offering. Victoria expressed her concern about Tucker. They discussed that neither believed that Tucker was back in town just to reconnect with his family. Victoria planned to sit down with Tucker to suss out what he really wanted.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) told Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) that he’d researched McCall Unlimited, and he didn’t like what he found. Billy revealed that Tucker had been on a selling spree to increase cash reserves. Devon noted it was odd timing, given that they’re about to go public. Lily pointed out that Tucker could be in Genoa City both to reconnect with family and to sniff around their IPO.
Nate joined Lily, Billy, and Devon at a meeting at Chancellor-Winters, and they were all waiting on Audra. Before she arrived, Devon called out Nate for spending so much time with Audra when his relationship with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) was on the rocks. Nate said he and Elena were figuring things out together. Audra showed up, and their meeting began.
Lily revealed that Tucker McCall somehow seemed to know about the upcoming IPO, and Devon said his dad’s return and actions raised a red flag. Lily encouraged everybody to be vigilant and maintain confidentiality. Devon wanted to pull back, but Nate suggested they hurry ahead more quickly, and everybody agreed with Nate, so Devon begrudgingly went along with it.
After the meeting, Nate left for a meeting, and Devon asked Audra to go for coffee at Crimson Lights. He told Audra that he wanted to get to know her more, just like Nate, and she seemed taken aback. She asked if Devon and Nate had a personal problem, which surprised him.
Lily asked Billy to keep looking into Tucker, but when he was less than enthused, Lily told him he didn’t have to do it unless he wanted to. Lily wanted to talk, and Billy wanted to talk at home, but she wasn’t willing to put it off. She pointed out that Billy wasn’t interested in his work anymore, and she said something was fundamentally wrong. Lily said it felt like Billy was just doing what she wanted him to do instead of what he really wanted to do. Ultimately, he agreed that he was trying to be Lily’s right-hand man, and it didn’t seem to be working. He admitted that being Lily’s Chief Operating Officer wasn’t fulfilling him, and he couldn’t pretend that it ever would.
Nate walked to Chancellor Park and called up Victoria to tell her the latest update on the new plans to help thwart Tucker, and Victoria pointed out that he might be a threat to their plans as well. When they hung up, Nate turned around, and Elena was there. She asked Nate to hear her out. She said she thought Nate might eventually understand that she loved him and he would change his mind, but then she realized that it wasn’t enough. Elena said she wanted Nate to stop his dirty plan for himself instead of her. After all, he could get hurt, and the plan wasn’t worth the potential downside.
Coming up next, look for Victor to investigate Tucker. Literally everybody in Genoa City suspects him of returning for nefarious reasons, but will Victor figure out the truth? Check out the daily breakdown below.
