The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, May 16, 2022, brings pre-wedding worries and gifts for the brides-to-be, including a missing wedding dress. However, things come together, and Mariah Copeland and Tessa Porter are poised to say their vows.
Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) had a major malfunction ahead of her wedding to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) — her wedding dress was missing in action. Yikes. She had Crystal Porter (Morgan Obenreder) there to help keep her calm, and they discussed how great Tessa’s life turned out.
Then, she got a message from Mariah, having her look in a special location for some silly love letters. Tessa promised to show up at Top of the Tower to marry Mariah even if she had to wear her robe. Finally, a knock at the door brought Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) with the bride’s outfit. Whew! Just in time to finish getting ready and head to the venue.
Over at Sharon Rosales’s (Sharon Case), Mariah got ready alongside her mother and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster). Sharon gave Mariah something old that was Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) bracelet. Then, she also gave Mariah something borrowed, which was Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) grandma’s handkerchief. Plus, Faith got her and Tessa matching toe rings with engraving on them. Mariah found all her gifts very touching.
Later, after she found a sweet message from Tessa, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) arrived complete with a litany of 1970s phrases. Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) also showed up. Everything was totally groovy as they left for Top of the Tower.
At The Grand Phoenix, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) traded barbs. Diane managed to get under Phyllis’s skin, and “Red” realized Diane hadn’t changed at all. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) showed up, and he wasn’t thrilled to see Diane had changed her plans after Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) decided to stay in town to officiate Mariah and Tessa’s wedding.
Later, Kyle let his mother know that his change of plans had nothing to do with her. He also revealed that Summer Abbott (Allison Lanier) was flying to Genoa City for a while. Jack asked Phyllis to be his date for the wedding, and she readily accepted.
Finally, everybody gathered at Top of the Tower, with many people complimenting Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) on his excellent decorations for the event. Everybody dressed in their best 1970s glam, and the whole place was happening. Additional guests included Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Chloe and Kevin were there too along with Phyllis and Jack.
Once Kyle took his place, Kevin stood up for Mariah and Crystal stood up for Tessa. Nick escorted Mariah while Sharon helped Tessa down the aisle. The brides met in the middle, and then walked forward together, holding hands to stand in front of Kyle. The two prepared to begin their ceremony.
