The Y&R spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 11, 2022, brings Rey Rosales’s off-screen memorial, Allie Nguyen’s leaning on Jack Abbott, Kyle Abbott telling Diane Jenkins he’s going home to Milan, and Michael Baldwin refusing Lauren Fenmore Baldwin’s desperate plea that he stop working for Victor Newman.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Noah Newman (Rory Gibson), Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster), Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) prepared to leave for Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) memorial. Before they left, Sharon answered a knock at the door to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). Sharon asked her to come with them to the church, and the whole memorial happened off-screen.
Later, they met back up at Sharon’s where she reiterated what happened. They each shared a special memory of Rey, and Sharon even asked Chelsea to share, but she seemed too upset to say much.
After that, Sharon made plans to leave, and she gave excuses why all her kids shouldn’t come with her to Miami. Ultimately, she let them know she preferred to go alone for her last goodbye to Rey.
The brides-to-be went home, and Mariah admitted she felt like Sharon would be okay, and they gushed about their upcoming nuptials. Unfortunately for Chelsea, she returned to an empty hotel room, and she spoke to Rey out loud. She thanked him for being good to her. Then she cried, wondering when she’d get to win.
Allie (Kelsey Wang) broke down in tears with her grandfather, Jack (Peter Bergman) by her side. He promised she had his full attention. Allie never cries like that, but Jack is her grandfather, so he wanted to listen to whatever bothered her.
It turned out that Allie’s mom went to Los Angeles, but her mom didn’t even bother to spend time with her. She simply signed the papers and left. Seeing her like that ripped Allie’s wound wide open, and it made her miss her dad even more. That hurt caused her to hop on a plane to build a connection with Jack. He offered his granddaughter all the support she needed.
The Baldwins discussed their recent vacation in the South of France. After some happy reminiscence, Lauren (Tracey Bregman) demanded that Michael (Christian Le Blanc) stop working for Victor (Eric Braeden). The private jet loan from Victor for their trip to France didn’t even help Lauren feel better about her husband working for The Mustache.
Lauren pushed for them to move to the south of France, and Michael asked her if she was willing to retire from Fenmore’s to do that. She couldn’t totally back off from Fenmore’s, which is what Michael suspected. Anyway, they’re still in their prime. Even so, Lauren complained about the danger Michael’s job puts him in versus the lack of danger she faces running Fenmore’s.
Later Michael went to The Grand Phoenix and received a shock when he saw Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was not dead. Michael surprised Diane by admitting he was happy to see her back in Genoa City. He said he was genuinely glad that she was not dead. Then Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) walked in unseen by them as they toasted to Diane’s aliveness, and she looked displeased.
Kyle (Michael Mealor) told his mom why he planned to go back to Italy. Kyle let her know that he needed his wife’s advice. Diane worried that Kyle hadn’t decided what to do about her. She tried to get Kyle to spill the details of what the Abbotts said about her, but he wouldn’t, so she asked what she could do to win him over. He let his mom know there’s still a chance, but he isn’t sure he can let her back into his life.
Kyle said his goodbyes to Diane and promised to be in touch soon. Then, Diane asked for a hug, and they embraced for the first time since her return. Kyle returned to the Abbott mansion, and Jack and Allie asked him to go to dinner at Society, but he surprised them by revealing his plans to return to Milan much to their surprise.
