The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, July 11, 2022, brings a bad day for Ashland Locke and Adam Newman as things crumble down around them while the Newmans celebrate Nick Newman’s big move.
Ashland (Robert Newman) had a no good very bad day. First of all, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) kept him from seeing Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) at Chancellor Park. She’s on the straight and narrow and as much as she feels for Ashland, there’s no way Diane is willing to risk her relationship with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to help him. Nope. Sorry. Figure out another way to see your son, Ashland because Diane isn’t the weak link…or is she?
Later, Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) met Diane at Crimson Lights for some refreshing iced tea, and he suggested she allow Ashland to see Harrison so he’d get in trouble. Again, Diane firmly said no, and a suitably chagrinned Michael switched tactics, which did give him one bit of news he didn’t know — yes Ashland is back in Genoa City. Oopsie.
As for the man himself? His fury rose even further when he wondered what “fresh hell” was in store for him with the latest installment of The Grinning Soul. That’s right, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) talked to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and got her begrudging agreement to out Ashland for every last one of his dirty deeds, so he wasted no time getting started. It was the icing on Ashland’s bad-day cake. Yikes!
Do you know who wasn’t having a bad day? The Newmans…well, mostly. Adam (Mark Grossman) wasn’t too happy. However, Nick (Joshua Morrow) thrilled Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) by accepting the Chief Operating Officer position at Newman Enterprises (doesn’t it seem like Genoa City has more COO positions than any other city ever?).
Later, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) stopped by and heard the good news, so they had a big toast. No worries, Victoria had both champagne and sparkling cider so Nikki could partake too. Oh, what a glorious occasion.
Of course, Adam was left out in the cold once again because he wasn’t part of Victor’s preferred family with Nikki. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) talked a whole lot of sense to Adam, urging him to bide his time and wait, but Adam has reverted to old Adam, so he didn’t listen to her. Instead, when Victor stopped by to see him, Adam quit Newman Media, which Victor claimed broke his heart.
Later, at Society, Sally fretted about her position at the company, and Adam expressed some sorrow at not staying long enough to ensure she was safely ensconced at Newman Media. No worries, though. Sally promised she’d land on her feet somehow.
