Young & Restless Recap: A Deadline
Diane met Jeremy at Society for breakfast, and she noticed he wore a tie she’d given him years ago. Diane managed to convince Jeremy that she was looking forward to proving herself to him, but she stopped short of revealing the details of what she planned to do. He suggested that she needed a deadline, however, Diane insisted that their partnership should be a game of equals. She said she was the one calling the shots.
Ashley updated Jack on business ahead of Valentine’s Day. After that wrapped up, Jack noted that Ashley had gotten home late the evening before, and she admitted it was about Tucker. She let her brother know that Tucker had Audra feeding him information about Chancellor-Winters, and she also revealed that she found evidence that Tucker wanted to take down Jabot too.
Ashley said she found the financial details that Diane was supposed to give Tucker, but Jack insisted Diane didn’t hand them over. Ashley said it didn’t matter how he got them, and she admitted she had kept her eyes open the whole time, so it wasn’t surprising. She did get in a dig at Jack about him falling for Diane, though.
Tucker showed up at Jabot looking for Ashley, but Jack took Tucker to task over all he’d done targeting Jabot and Chancellor-Winters. Tucker told Jack that all he wanted was for Ashley to have what she deserved — her own company because Jack was too controlling about Jabot. Jack said Tucker was delusional, and Tucker said Ashley should never have returned from Paris. Jack let Tucker know he wasn’t welcome at Jabot.
Diane stopped by Jack’s office. She let him know about her meeting with Jeremy, and she wanted to move forward with getting Jeremy involved in something illegal. Jack urged caution, but Diane insisted that they didn’t have time because her deadline was tomorrow. He was aghast it was so quick. Diane wondered if they should involve Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), but Jack nixed that.
He let Diane know that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki kept a place in Chicago, and he knew all the codes and the secret place where Nikki kept some of her jewelry. Diane thought it sounded like a plan, and Jack offered to go in Diane’s place because he had a better chance of getting into the apartment.
Y&R Recap: Surprise
Devon got an unexpected visit from Abby. She didn’t have the baby, and Abby asked Devon to go get a coffee, but he wasn’t in the mood. They stayed at Devon’s, and he admitted that he was riled up over Tucker and his shenanigans. He let Abby know that after he found out about Audra’s connection to Tucker, he went to his dad’s hotel suite and saw Ashley there.
Devon was unhappy that he let Tucker get close to Dominic, and he apologized to Abby, but she said she’d bought into Tucker’s story too. Devon lamented that the grandfather Dominic deserved — Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) — was gone. He thought his family was disappearing, but Abby let Devon know that he had a son who would never disappear. Abby understood how upset it must’ve been for Devon to find out about Tucker and Audra. He also revealed that Audra got in a dig about how Devon was wrong about her, Nate, and Tucker. Devon lost sleep over it all.
Devon called Jill, and Jill was furious to learn that Audra had been a spy. She took all the blame since she brought Audra on board. Jill said they had to put the IPO on hold again, and she wondered if they should get Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) on the call. However, Devon didn’t want to talk about that. Instead, he let Jill know that he wanted to buy back Hamilton Winters.
Jill was shocked, and she thought Devon was overreacting. Devon said he wasn’t and that he realized Nate had a point when he said Devon was protective about what he and Neil had created. Jill told Devon he was making a huge mistake, and he said he’d be public about his lack of support for the IPO if Jill or Lily gave him any grief. Jill was furious about Devon’s threat, but he insisted that getting his company back was important to him. Jill asked Devon to take some time and rethink things, but he said he didn’t need more time.
As for Audra, Nate talked her up to Victoria. She thought the candidate seemed too good to be true, and she was stunned when she realized Nate wanted to hire Audra. Victoria wondered why the younger woman wasn’t still at Chancellor-Winters, but Nate said her work at the company was finished. Victoria was intrigued, and she wanted to meet with Audra.
Audra showed up at Newman Media, and she was surprised to find Victoria there too. Victoria expressed her surprise at Audra leaving Chancellor-Winters before the Initial Public Offering. Audra played it off by saying she couldn’t reveal any details. She had lots of good questions during their meeting, and Nate thought Audra had a great understanding of the company and its future, but Victoria was taken aback since they were the ones interviewing Audra. The latter said she was who she was and urged them to decide now. Victoria admitted she liked Audra’s style, and she left the decision about hiring her up to Nate. After Victoria left, Nate offered Audra the job.
At Society, Abby was working, and Ashley showed up. Abby let her mom know that she already knew since Devon told her what happened. Ashley admitted that she felt stupid, and she let Abby know that Tucker offered to help her start her own cosmetics company. Ashley also revealed that her heart couldn’t help giving Tucker the benefit of the doubt.
Abby and her mom lamented their stupid hearts and the complications. Ashley also clued Abby into finding Jabot’s papers in Tucker’s desk, and she admitted she could use some distance from everything. Ashley thought it was best that she leave Genoa City.
Y&R Recap: Making Up
Phyllis ran into Tucker at Crimson Lights, and she wanted to know if he meant it when he said he wanted to burn it all down. Tucker said he did, but the deal was off the table since she shut him down. Phyllis went on to tell Tucker that he wasn’t ever going to fit in Genoa City, but Tucker pointed out the same could be said about Phyllis. She declared she’d fix any issues she had with her family like always. Phyllis encouraged Tucker to fix things with his family, leave, or stay and burn it all down.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) let Summer know that he didn’t like that she was fleeing with Harrison to get away from Diane and Jeremy. Summer tried to reassure her husband, but he wasn’t reassured. He didn’t like that Summer thought he was choosing his mother over her and Harrison. Summer let him know they would get through it.
The doorbell rang, and it was Phyllis looking for Summer. She was surprised to see that Summer and Harrison were leaving on a trip. Phyllis instantly thought Summer wanted to get out of town because of Diane. Phyllis suggested that she go to Paris with Summer, but her daughter was surprised, given their last talk.
Phyllis said she hated that Summer was caught between Kyle and Diane. Summer didn’t buy it, and then she realized her mom had talked to Daniel Romalotti (Michael Grazaidei). Phyllis denied it, but Summer called her bluff. Phyllis admitted that Daniel may have told her a bit about what Summer said, and she pointed out that their rift was causing Daniel to be upset. Phyllis admitted that she went too far in trying to make Summer choose between her husband and her mother, and she apologized. Summer promised to discuss it all with Kyle.
