The Young and the Restless recap brings a shocking moment for Daniel Romalotti when Summer tells her brother that she isn’t crazy.
Chance (Conner Floyd) and Christine discuss the case against Diane and what happened with Jeremy. Lily and Devon make plans to honor Neil on the anniversary of his passing four years ago. Diane gets unwanted visits from Jack and Kyle. Finally, Mariah and Sharon share a heart-to-heart about their complicated paths to motherhood. Now let’s dig deeper into what went down.
Daniel (Michael Graziadei) stopped by Chancellor-Winters with an afternoon pickup for Lily (Christel Khalil). He wanted to talk to her about his strange conversation with Summer (Allison Lanier). Daniel said his sister was making stuff up, and he felt scared.
Lily encouraged Daniel to be there for his sister. Ultimately, all he wanted was for Summer to be okay, but he admitted that he was barely making it himself. Lily reminded him that everybody grieves in a different way, and she warned Daniel that losing somebody is soul-crushing. She said they’d continue doing things they regret, but Daniel said he had no regrets…and he hoped she didn’t either.

Lily clearly told Daniel that she didn’t regret their night together. They both agreed that they weren’t in the place to start a new relationship, and neither wanted to damage their friendship. As Daniel left, Devon (Bryton James) walked in. He wanted an update on Omega Sphere.
He noted that he’d picked up a vibe in the air between Lily and Daniel. She gave him an update on the project, and Devon wanted to discuss his other ideas. Devon said he wanted them to throw a party at the jazz lounge to honor Neil’s passing four years ago, and Lily was all in for the whole thing.
At the park, Summer continued flashing back to Phyllis. Chance (Conner Floyd) showed up. He apologized for startling her. Summer wondered why Chance was there and not looking for Jeremy’s killer. He let her know he was only consulting on that case since it wasn’t his. She wondered if Chance was there looking for clues, but he said he wasn’t.
She asked Chance if he had any ideas about who killed Jeremy, and Chance didn’t think they needed to talk about that. He assured Summer that the people looking into the death knew what they were doing, but she had more questions.
Summer piqued Chance’s curiosity, and he wondered if something else was going on. She denied it, but Chance encouraged her to tell him anything she might know. He apologized, and Summer said she hadn’t come across anything suspicious. Chance said he only wanted to help, and Summer thanked him, noting that she was barely holding it together.
Daniel walked up and wondered what his sister was doing at the park again. She insisted she was fine, and Daniel wondered if she and Chance had come together, but Summer said it was a coincidence. Chance asked questions, but Summer asked for time alone with her brother, so he left.
Daniel pointed out that Jeremy had died just like she’d said the night before, and Summer asked him not to talk about anything she’d said. She begged her brother to leave it alone, and Daniel thought that Jeremy being killed couldn’t be a coincidence. However, Summer tried to tell her brother that she wasn’t telling the truth the night before and just guessed that Jeremy had died.
All Daniel wanted was to know that Summer was okay. She denied that she was imagining their mom or seeing her. Summer was upset that Chance wouldn’t give up anything about the stabbing or scissors, and Daniel wondered how she knew those details.
Summer tried to blame her knowledge on reading an article, but Daniel didn’t buy it. He wondered if Summer killed Jeremy, but she told him not to be ridiculous. He threatened to ask Chance, and Summer made her brother swear he wouldn’t tell anybody that everything she’d said the night before was true. Summer cried that she couldn’t handle it all on her own, and she admitted that Phyllis had told her what happened to Jeremy.
Chance met up with Christine (Lauralee Bell) on the patio at Crimson Lights. He told her he had a gut feeling that Jeremy was killed in Genoa City. Chance insisted that he had to look into the whole thing. Christine said that she still intended to try their airtight case against Diane.
Jack arrived at the jail, and Diane (Susan Walters) wasn’t pleased. He wanted to know if she would marry him, and Diane expressed her surprise that he was still hanging around. She accused Jack of being in denial about her situation.
Jack expressed he was devoted to Diane and confident in her future. She didn’t know how he could be so certain he’d get her through the trial, but Jack said Diane was his life and wouldn’t let her go through it alone. Once again, Diane said she wouldn’t drag Jack down alongside her and asked him to leave. However, Jack got her to stop, revealing that Jeremy was dead.
Diane had many questions, and Jack told her it looked like murder. She was upset because it didn’t work in her favor since she thought Jeremy killed Phyllis, and he couldn’t clear her name with a confession. Jack tried to calm Diane down by saying they’d have to investigate things with Jeremy.
Kyle (Michael Mealor) showed up, but Diane told him to leave, but he wouldn’t. Diane didn’t want to ruin his life, but he said she wasn’t. Kyle expressed that he knew Diane was innocent, and he vowed to prove it. However, Diane admitted she knew it was taking a toll on his marriage to Summer. He said that would all pass, though.
Talk turned to Harrison, and Diane loved hearing about him, but she admitted that it hurt too. Diane worried it would hurt Harrison if she was wrongly convicted of Phyllis’s death.
Jack gave Chance a hard time when he saw him on the patio at Crimson Lights. He wanted to know why the detective wasn’t investigating. Chance suggested that Jack stay out of things, but Jack told Chance he had to dig up all of Jeremy’s secrets to exonerate Diane.
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) brought Aria to Crimson Lights, and Sharon (Sharon Case) gushed over the little girl. The tired new mom needed coffee asap! Sharon worried that her daughter had returned to work too quickly.
Mariah told Sharon about someone asking if Aria was her first child, and she didn’t know how to respond because of giving birth to Dominic. For Mariah, her pregnancy with Dominic was an important part of her life, but in the end, Aria was her first child.
Sharon understood how complicated it was since she had to stop and think when people asked how many children she had. They talked about Cassie and how much Sharon loved her. Sharon warned Mariah that people would talk about how much Aria looked like her or Tessa, and she suggested that Mariah take each comment as it came.
Mariah thanked her mom for being the best, and Sharon expressed her sorrow and missing the early years of Mariah’s life. However, Mariah said the past was in the past, and they were together now.
