Because her son, Connor, wasn’t adoring Chelsea as much as he used to on The Young and the Restless, Chelsea got it into her head that Johnny, the son she’d given up for adoption, had to be told that Chelsea was his biological mother RIGHT NOW. Johnny’s adoptive mother, Victoria, didn’t think it was a great idea. Johnny’s dad, Billy, was on the fence. But Chelsea pushed and pushed and pushed, swearing it was for Johnny and Connor’s benefit, not for hers. And so Chelsea got her way.

Young and the Restless Fallout

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) gave in, and she and Billy (Jason Thompson) told Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) the truth. Victoria insisted that Johnny be allowed to decide how much contact he had with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). Johnny didn’t want much. But Chelsea pushed and pushed and pushed, and — one suicide attempt later — Chelsea got her way! She guilted Johnny into accepting her.

One Big Happy Y&R Family

Johnny hung out with Connor (Judah Mackey) and played video games. Johnny joined Billy, Chelsea, and Connor for dinner, and urged his mom, Victoria, to have a slice with them. Everything was great! Everyone was happy! And we were left wondering…is that it?

A Young and the Restless Point of View

If that was it, what was the point? There were a couple of days of drama for Johnny, and then he got with the program. Was it all just so that it could set up Chelsea’s suicide attempt? And was that all set up so that Billy would come to her rescue? Victoria accused Chelsea of using Johnny. But was it actually the writers who were the ones using the kid?
