The Young and the Restless recap for Friday brings a big life change for Devon Hamilton as he asks Abby and Dominic to move into his penthouse.
Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Chance (Conner Floyd) attempted to get to the bottom of what happened with Phyllis as Jack, Diane, and Kyle pointed the finger at Jeremy. Leanna tried to get the scoop as Sharon hoped Phyllis was okay. Summer and Daniel alerted everybody that Phyllis never arrived at the hospital, and later, Chance said an ambulance had been in a crash. Elena and Victoria clashed nicely over Nate. Ashley considered Tucker’s proposal…as a game. Now let’s dig deeper into what went down.
Y&R Recap: Chance Brings Bad News
Jack (Peter Bergman) insisted that Jeremy (James Hyde) take his lies and leave. However, Jeremy produced a marriage license, and he said that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) married him due to Jack and Diane (Susan Walters), and the rest of the people in Genoa City who didn’t believe her. Jeremy simply provided Phyllis comfort and protection from Diane.
Chance walked in as Jeremy revealed that Diane had threatened Phyllis with violence. He suggested Jeremy prove it. Jeremy welcomed the detective, and he said that Kyle (Michael Mealor), Summer (Allison Lanier), and Jack had witnessed Diane threatening to strangle Phyllis.

Chance asked Diane about the whole confrontation, but Jack and Kyle tried to keep Chance from questioning her. Nate (Sean Dominic) and Elena (Brytni Sarpy) confirmed Phyllis hadn’t been intoxicated. Diane declared Chance’s questions insane, but he wasn’t deterred.
Again, Chance asked Diane for the truth, so she explained how Phyllis had lured her to the room. She said Phyllis provoked a physical altercation. Diane admitted that she’d responded in the heat of the moment, and it wasn’t a real threat. Jack jumped in, and he wanted Chance to focus on Jeremy.
Summer and Daniel (Michael Graziadei) ran in, and they let everybody know that the ambulance never made it to the hospital. Summer asked Chance to find out what happened to her mother. Danny offered his support to Daniel while Jack asked Jeremy what was going on.
Jeremy surreptitiously texted somebody while others stood around talking. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) complained to Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) about how things went south at the gala after all their hard work.
Meanwhile, Leanna (Barbara Crampton) told Sharon (Sharon Case) that the whole thing was the story she’d been waiting for, but Sharon told her it didn’t need to be gossip. Sharon said she hoped Phyllis was okay, and Leanna agreed that was most important as she observed Jeremy with his phone.
Chance walked over to Sharon, and he talked about how nobody could find the ambulance. He suggested that there could be foul play, and he stopped Sharon from picking up Phyllis’s mask since it was evidence.
Jack told Diane he worried that Jeremy had tried to harm Phyllis. Diane told Jack that her fight with Phyllis wasn’t who she was. After all, she didn’t want anything bad to happen to Phyllis, and Jack said he believed her.
Young and the Restless: Fun And Games
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) laughed in Tucker’s (Trevor St. John) face over his proposal. She declared him temporarily insane and said no. Of course, Tucker said he wouldn’t take no for an answer, and he reminded Ashley that he continued fighting for her.
Of course, Ashley pointed out all the ways the things Tucker did went wrong. Ashley said she’d bought Tucker’s debt to own him completely. Again, he pushed her to get married. Tucker suggested that they take it in stages — a game for now. He wanted to publically announce the engagement to steal Jack and Diane’s thunder.
Ashley promised to think about the idea, which she liked. Even so, she pushed Tucker to talk Devon into buying McCall Unlimited. She didn’t want the Newmans to own the company. Ashley demanded more of Tucker, and she wondered where his killer instinct was, which was weird since he thought she wanted that instinct gone.
Tucker seemed put out by Ashley’s game, and he told her that he knew she could feel the chemistry between them. He accused her of being too scared to admit it. Ashley told him to think whatever he wanted so long as she kept the upper hand.
Tucker said he needed to leave, and Ashley said she planned to stay up for her brother and Diane to return, so she could give them hell. He bid her goodnight and left after trying to kiss her, but she pulled away at first, eventually agreeing to a kiss.
Summer updated everybody that Phyllis still hadn’t arrived at the hospital. Chance walked up and told Daniel and Summer that there was an accident with an ambulance. He advised them to prepare for the worst.
Young and the Restless Recap: Worry Over Phyllis
Outside the lounge, Amanda (Mishael Morgan) worried about Phyllis, and Lily (Christel Khalil) tried to comfort her. She also wondered how she missed the news that Phyllis had married Jeremy. After all, Phyllis is Amanda’s best friend. Lily advised Amanda to keep positive as they waited to hear from Daniel (Michael Graziadei).
As they waited for news, Lily asked for an update on Amanda’s chat with Devon (Bryton James). She updated Lily, but Amanda warned her to be careful when it came to Devon since he was willing to take down Chancellor-Winters. Lily said Devon was her brother, though, and she said what happened between Amanda and Devon was different than what happened between her and Devon. She was just happy to be back on track with her brother.
At the bar, Elena and Nate discussed the situation with Phyllis, and they went back and forth about what could’ve happened. Elena seemed to love talking about medicine with her boyfriend. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) observed them, and Audra told Victoria she could see why Nate and Elena had a spark. Audra went home while Victoria said she was going to check on Nate.
Amanda hoped for an update about Phyllis, and Elena said the ambulance hadn’t arrived. Victoria approached, asking about Phyllis, and she remarked how great it was to see Nate and Elena working together. Elena noted that medicine was Nate’s true calling, and Victoria said people could have multiple callings. Elena and Victoria sparred back and forth about what a team player Nate was.
Audra ended up at the bar at Society, and Tucker came up behind her, looking over her shoulder as she texted on her phone. He bought her a drink, but she wasn’t too thrilled about it. He tried to build rapport, but Audra wasn’t too receptive. He goaded her about Nate only having eyes for Elena, and Audra pushed his buttons regarding Ashley. She said she had a plan, and he offered to help. She asked him to track down J.T.
Y&R Recap: Devon Hamilton Makes A Big Move
Devon arrived home, and Abby (Melissa Ordway) happily greeted him. She relayed that Nina (Tricia Cast) had confronted her, but Abby wanted to know how things went with Amanda. Devon let Abby know that Jack and Diane announced their engagement, and Phyllis collapsed.
Talk returned to Devon and Amanda’s conversation. Abby wondered if Devon dropping the lawsuit was truly what he wanted, and Devon said something shifted in him…because of Abby. He said Abby reminded him that family was the most important thing. Ultimately, Devon said his and Lily’s shared connection to Neil brought them back together.
Abby wondered what Devon planned to do about McCall. Devon really didn’t know what his role would be in Chancellor-Winters or McCall. He needed to sleep on it, and Abby said she’d support him no matter what. They cuddled on the couch, talking about how happy they were together, and Devon asked Abby to move in with him.
