Y&R Fair Use: Is Ashley Abbott Using Tucker McCall?

On The Young and the Restless, Tucker keeps pushing Ashley Abbott to set a wedding date. And Ashley keeps salivating at how furious their marriage will make her brother and his fiancée. It almost seems like the two of them are at cross-purposes. Is Ashley using Tucker?

Ashley Abbott: Love Is All Around

She’s falling in love, 10% of the audience asserts confidently. How could she not? What woman wouldn’t love a snarky guy who doesn’t take anything seriously and is constantly making secret alliances with other women? Not to mention a guy who already let her down the last time they were married? But none of that matters. This is a brand new Tucker (Trevor St. John). He’s a grandfather now. That makes him cute and cuddly. And not at all dangerous.

Young and the Restless: Who Knows

We have no idea, 38% of you confess. Tucker is playing his cards close to the vest, but so is Ashley (Eileen Davidson). She keeps running hot and cold. One day she’s all over him, the next she’s talking business while he’s trying to talk love. In the beginning, it was obvious she only wanted Tucker as a tool against Diane (Susan Walters) and Jack (Peter Bergman). But he’s grown on her. We just don’t know how much.

Ashley Abbott: Draw You a Picture

Then again, a majority 52% have no doubts. Of course, Ashley is using him. Ashley isn’t stupid. She knows who Tucker is. And she knows what he can do. She’d prefer he do it for her as opposed to against her. She is playing a martial arts long con. She is using Tucker’s strengths against him and for her. She’ll let him know when she’s done with him. And that’s when he’ll be done. Not a minute before. And we’ll enjoy watching every minute.
