Phyllis Summers has a brilliant idea on The Young and the Restless! She should come to work for her beloved daughter, Summer Newman Abbott.
Young and the Restless
She spun it as a great mother-child bonding opportunity. We know it’s just so that she can spy on that horrible Diane Jenkins and get her out of her precious offspring’s life for good. Is this in any way a good idea?
Y&R: First Place
It came down to the wire, but 51% of you came down on the side of “No, this is a terrible idea. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is only doing this because of Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), and Summer (Allison Lanier) will feel so disappointed and used once the truth comes out.” Yet, despite all the sobbing and breast-beating that Phyllis did when Summer dared move out of town for a marvelous job opportunity that awful Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) arranged for her, even that was never about Summer. It was about Phyllis Just like everything always is.
The Young and the Restless: Drama Queen
Anything Phyllis touches inevitably always goes down in some spectacular flames, and 35% of the audience is so here for the drama that would bring. Sure, Summer will be crushed. Sure, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will be incensed. And, sure, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will, once again, be reminded why Phyllis can never be trusted. But doesn’t that beat everyone sitting around and playing one, big happy family? What fun is that?
Quality Time
Phyllis and her Supergirl have always been one of daytime’s most tightly bonded mother-daughter teams, which is why 14% of voters are super-excited by the idea of them spending more time together. Who cares about Diane, or even Kyle and Jack? This is a girl bonding thing, and you’re looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble they’ll get into… together.
