Young and the Restless Star Michelle Stafford Takes Fans On An Adventure

Michelle Stafford, who plays The Young and the Restless’ meddling Phyllis, took her followers through the process of covering the cast on her foot so it wouldn’t get wet. She posted a hilarious video illustrating every step (pun firmly intended) of the way.

Might Not Work

Y&R’s Michelle Stafford suffered a painful injury while walking her dog, which required her to have a cast on her left foot. On June 18, she posted a video to Instagram hilariously depicting her effort to cover the cast so she could take a shower. With whimsical music playing, she stated, “Okay, I’m starting this. I’m including you all.”

The video cut at various points to speed up her process, as she explained, “I have to take a shower.” Grabbing a plastic grocery bag, she looked at it and said, “Oh good God. I have to cover it,” and then started putting it over her foot, saying, “I don’t think this is gonna work.” (Find out how Phyllis is the worst mother of the century.)

It cut to a different shot of her as she started over, remarking, “Okay, I’m gonna do this again. So I have to put this bag on it [so as] not to get any water on this. This is gonna be hard.” The video cut to the next shot of her holding a roll of clear packing tape, explaining, “Okay, so I suppose what you do, since I’ve never broken anything, what you do is like [put the] bag on [the] foot, and you tape it. Like this.” She continued, “This is not…fun.” Then, in another cut, added, “Anybody have some suggestions [for] what is better to do?”

Foot Under Wraps

Stretching the clear tape around the top of the bag at her calf, she stated, “Okay, let’s see how that works.” Upon completion, she showed her wrapped foot to the camera. “All right. Let’s try it,” she said, and with a grin, she added, “You’re coming in the shower with me.” Before her shower, she stood in front of a full-length mirror so her wrapped foot could be seen clearly, and she quipped, “It’s definitely a look, isn’t it?” (Check out another soap star who fractured a bone.)

She didn’t record her shower but afterward continued the recording as she cut the bag off of her foot, stating, “Here’s a test.” She opened it up and put her hand on the cast, saying, “Let’s see how it went. Oh. Well, it is dry…ish,” happily adding, “Oh, Yeah. Yeah!” At a later point, she asked, “How much does that matter? Because it’s, it’s dry…ish. I did the best I could with what I have.”
