On The Young and the Restless, Elena seems to have finally accepted that she and Devon are over for good, and is considering moving on with Nate, who’s been subtly pushing her that way for months.
But is she really ready to move on, or is she just using a nice guy to deal with her own feelings? What over 3,000 viewers told us they think is happening:
Oh, please, 55% of you dismiss, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) is still totally in love with Devon (Bryton James). Check out how she glares every time she so much passes by Devon talking to another woman, especially if it’s Amanda (Mishael Morgan). And then check out the lack of enthusiasm on her face every time Nate (Sean Dominic) suggests they should take their relationship to the next level.
At best, she’s trying to convince herself that this is the reasonable thing to do. But she’s thinking it, not feeling it. And, guess what? Nate deserves better. Sure, he slept with his cousin’s girlfriend, and that’s not a very nice thing. But what Elena is currently doing to him isn’t very nice either.
Elena does want Nate, 45% of the audience counters, it’s guilt that’s holding her back. She and Nate’s relationship started with a betrayal, and she doesn’t think she deserves to be happy. It’s not that she doesn’t have good feelings for Nate, it’s that Elena has bad feelings towards herself. Nate has been super patient, but this isn’t really about him. It’s not even about Devon. It’s about Elena and how she feels.
Nate should be patient. Up to a point. If Elena can’t get past her issues, then Nate should move on. And let Elena move onto somebody who doesn’t rack her with guilt, no matter how sweet he is. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
