When it comes to The Young and the Restless, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of Y&R’s week that was.
The wheels may not be all the way off the track, but they are certainly spinning. Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) are having the same roundabout arguments that they’ve been having for over a decade; the same roundabout arguments that they will still be having another decade from now following their next, inevitable reconciliation.
Everybody is gathering around Abby Newman Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) in the aftermath of Chance Chancellor’s supposed death – as if he’s not alive, and soon to return to the canvas with a brand spanking new face; but until then, we have to sit through days, weeks, dare we say months, of Abby crying while rocking a blanket stuffed inside another blanket (which is suppose to represent baby Dominic), and having conversations with the air *ahem* we mean, her beloved husband.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) are teaming up to destroy Billy “Boy” Abbott (Jason Thompson) – as if that hasn’t happened a half dozen times before.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Chase) has thrown her support behind Adam, which has angered Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) – as if that hasn’t happened a half dozen times (or more) before.
Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), perhaps the least stable of all The Young and the Restless couples are once again on the outs…and lovelorn Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) is insinuating himself into their business.
About the only thing that has changed, is Victoria Newman Locke’s (Amelia Heinle) feelings towards Billy. The Victoria of old would have ridden to her ex’s rescue. The new and improved Victoria has shrugged her shoulders and merely requested that she not be privy to the details of her husband, half-brother, and father’s scheme. Is that progress? We think it may be progress.
* Most In Need of a Story: Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). Being, respectively, Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) on-call medical expert, and sleepy just doesn’t cut it.
* Who wants to make odds on whether or not we actually get to see Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) take the stand, and testify against Sutton Ames (Jack Landron)?
