Y&R spoilers reveal that Abby Chancellor continues to come to terms with the possibility that Chance Chancellor might be dead. With a number of possibilities for this storyline, we think the best long shot storyline is that Ronan Malloy returns to mourn his brother and falls in love with Abby.

Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) returns to Genoa City upon hearing of Chance’s presumed death. She’ll do her best to rally around Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Dominic, but she’ll struggle to deal with her own grief over losing Chance. We wonder what would happen if Ronan (Jeff Branson) returned to Genoa City to help comfort his grieving mother.
It’s possible that Ronan was on the same assignment as Chance, so perhaps he returns to town with news for his grieving family. Also, it might be poetic if Ronan showed up at Chance’s funeral much like he did at his half-brother’s previous funeral.
These brothers not only shared a liver but also a previous romantic partner. Ronan already got together with one of his half-brother Chance’s exes — Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson). Given these parts of their history, the idea that Ronan would step in with Abby in the wake of Chance’s presumed death isn’t that far out of the realm of possibility.

Sure, Y&R spoilers predict Abby might shy away from getting involved with another lawman with a dangerous job. However, Ronan’s profession might actually draw her to him since it’s so similar to Chance’s.
While the signs point to an Abby and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) pairing, that seems too obvious. The tired storyline setup between Devon and Abby makes the possibility of Ronan returning and sweeping Abby off her feet even more enticing.
As a bonus, Abby would keep the same mother-in-law since she and Nina seem to get along reasonably well. Even without an Abby pairing, we’d love to see Ronan return to spice things up. It seems Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) might be free soon.
