Soap Hub Travel Tuesday: B&B Alum Ashlyn Pearce — Fly Away Home

Published by

As Aly Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, Ashlyn Pearce didn’t travel abroad to shoot remotes, however, she did get out of the studio on occasion. She sat down with Soap Hub to talk about her travels for both work and pleasure.

Ashlyn Pearce Has Traveled Near and Far

Soap Hub: Did you travel much with B&B?
Ashlyn Pearce:
I didn’t go anywhere outside of the country, but one travel job I had with the show was to go on location to [in Buena Park, Calif.] Medieval Times. That was one of my favorite days of all time. It was just a short hop, skip, and a jump down the road, but I loved it.

Soap Hub: Do you have a dream destination?
Ashlyn Pearce:
Quite a few places. A big dream place for me is visiting Japan again. I went there as a model. I went to Osaka; I’d been to Tokyo; I’ve actually been studying Japanese and the culture. I’d love to go back and visit the beautiful locations I’ve only seen in books. I was in Japan only a few weeks for modeling. It was a quick trip. I was running around to castings. I barely got to see anything. The food there is so good.

Soap Hub: What did you like about visiting Japan?
Ashlyn Pearce:
I have to say — this goes for both Japan and Europe; I had a huge pallet change when I went to Europe. Their food is so flavorful. When I’d taste [food] over there, it tasted like something. I’ll never forget I was in a restaurant in France. I put tomatoes on a pizza, and the consistency felt like a bell pepper; it was so crisp and flavorful. The food in Japan is very fresh too.

Soap Hub: Did you have a guardian go with you?
Ashlyn Pearce:
Oh, yeah. My mom went with me. We had quite the adventure. [Laughs] For an entire day, we went looking for a Starbucks! We kept seeing the sign for it. There were other places that were familiar. I saw the big Tokyo Disney sign, which was comforting because I’m a big Disney person.

Soap Hub: Did you know any of the language when you were in Japan?
Ashlyn Pearce:
It was a little bit of all of that; when you got closer to the city, people spoke English. We had an interpreter, but I didn’t know a word. By the time I left, I did know, ‘hello’ and thank you. Now that I know some of the language, I can look back and see things that made sense.
