Ashley Jones briefly traded in Dr. Bridget Forrester’s stethoscope for a director’s chair for some LMN thrillers! Soap Hub has the scoop on the movies. Not only has Jones directed the films, but she can also be seen in one of them.
Jones, beloved as B&B’s Bridget, first came to the attention of soap fans from her turn as Megan Dennison on The Young and the Restless in 1997. She’s making her directorial debut in the Lifetime movie The Secret Lives of College Escorts.
The actress/director posted on Instagram a year ago about her role as a director. “The past month, I did something I’ve dreamed about for a while… directed my film!” Jones shared. “Now we are on to a different stage-editing, but principal photography is done. It’s bittersweet… THANK YOU for all your kind encouragement and support through this journey!”
The Secret Lives of Escorts tells the tale of Eve (Pilot Paisley-Rose), a 19-year-old college student, who gets convinced by her friend Monica (Emily Ram) to sneak out for a wild night of partying, but things turn tragic and Eve winds up losing her athletic scholarship. She then meets Carla (Laurie Fortier), a successful event planner, who offers what seems to be the perfect job to pay for tuition…The Secret Lives of College Escorts premieres on Friday, August 19 at 8/7c p.m. on LMN.
Jones has another film she’s directed for LMN. In What Happened to My Sister?, the soap opera fan favorite not only serves as the director but also as one of the film’s stars. In this thriller, Eve (Lauryn Speights) is a college freshman who decides to rush the same sorority as her sister Gabi (Heather Harris), who died rushing two years earlier. Eve’s goal is to find out the truth about her sibling’s death. Jones plays the part of Rebecca Hale. What Happened to My Sister? premieres on Friday, September 23 at 8/7c p.m. on LMN.
Jones isn’t the only B&B star to turn director. Both Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie Forrester) and Heather Tom (Katie Logan) have also stepped behind the lens. LMN is also going to air a series of Jones-starring films leading up to What Happened to My Sister? on September 23. For more info, check out LMV. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
