The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, August 12, 2022, brings Chelsea Lawson playing with fire, where Billy Abbott is concerned. Plus, Nate Hastings and Elena Dawson get a shock when they meet up with Sally Spectra, and Kyle Abbott convinces Summer Newman Abbott to take a chance on Tessa Porter.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) stopped by Chancellor-Winters to see Billy (Jason Thompson). She noted his different energy behind the desk at the family company. Then, she brought up the possibility of Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and Johnny Abbott meeting for a playdate. Billy tried to put her off, but Chelsea wasn’t having it. He finally agreed to at least bring it up with Victoria.

Later, they ate at Society, and Chelsea pitched lots of new ideas for the podcast — specifically true crime. Billy liked the ideas, and they also briefly discussed The Grinning Soul, and it seemed Chelsea may be onto who really does the podcast. Then, she noted how alive he seemed discussing the creative stuff, and asked if he was truly fulfilled at Chancellor-Winters, but Billy couldn’t honestly say that he was. Chelsea noted that he always tried to fit into an Abbott box and always ended up rebelling.
Young and the Restless: How Dare You?
Earlier at Society, Nate (Sean Dominic) and Elena (Brytni Sarpy) happened to run into Sally (Courtney Hope). She had no clue what they were talking about when Nate mentioned their canceled meeting — uh oh. They negotiated with Sally to get Elena out of her Newman Media contract, and ultimately, Sally agreed — for a price.
Elena wasn’t willing to let the fact that Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) had lied about scheduling a meeting with Sally go. Nate tried to sweep it under the rug, and then they argued. It seemed he didn’t feel Elena supported him enough, and she felt that Imani supported him far more than she should. They seemed to be at an impasse.

Y&R Spoilers Recap: World War III?
Kyle (Michael Mealor) met up with Summer (Allison Lanier) at the rooftop bar. He had something to talk about, and she worried it had to do with their mothers and World War III.
Alas, it wasn’t anything like that. Instead, Kyle pitched Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) idea about Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) modeling for Marchetti while she healed. Summer didn’t love the thought of Mariah being involved, but Kyle promised his wife that his friend would be too busy at Jabot, so Summer ultimately relented.
Y&R: A New Idea
At Crimson Lights, Mariah doted on Tessa, and the latter told her wife to go to work. However, Mariah didn’t buy that Tessa was totally fine. She wanted her to tell her about her worries.
Later, Kyle and Summer stopped by with the offer to be the new face of Marchetti, and at first, Tessa didn’t like the plan. However, after some talking, she agreed to consider it.
