Soap Opera News — GH Emergency Surgery

General Hospital actress Kirsten Storms (Maxie) stunned fans by revealing she recently underwent brain surgery and is being taken care of by her pal Emme Rylan (ex-Lulu). The actress also offered an update on her recovery.

A Brenda and Sonny Reunion
In other GH news, Maurice Benard (Sonny) celebrated his daughter Cailey’s wedding and shared a special reunion with Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda). The former soap couple even shared a dance, which you can watch here.

Crossing Over
John McCook is taking his Eric Forrester act on the road. The actor will bring his The Bold and the Beautiful patriarch over to The Young and the Restless.

DAYS Switcheroo
Days of our Lives has recast one of its young characters. Precious Way is out as Chanel Dupree, and Raven Bowens has taken over the role.

Daytime Emmy Update
A familiar face will be hosting the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, this month. The Talk’s Sheryl Underwood will be handling the assignment once again.

Forever Friends
The Young and the Restless’s Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) shared a fun story from her years of friendship with Finola Hughes (Anna, GH). Then Stafford took a trip down memory lane, recounting her time on the Aaron Spelling drama Pacific Palisades on which she and Hughes portrayed besties.

Johnny DiMera is finally heading home to Salem. Get to know Carson Boatman, the daytime newcomer who’ll be tackling the Days of our Lives role.

Laura Wright has spent half of her daytime career on GH as Carly but got her soap on Loving. The actress recently celebrated three decades on daytime.

Mary Beth Evans’ favorite storyline during her tenure on DAYS is bound to surprise you. That’s because it has nothing to do with her role as Kayla.

Proud mom Melissa Ordway (Abby, YR) has two tiny dancers in the family. Her daughters, Sophie and Olivia, took their act on a very famous stage.

Who’s the Boss?
Rena Sofer (Quinn, BB) dabbles in pottery and recently made co-star Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter) a special gift. It’s a mug that has him feeling pretty special.

Welcome Wagon
Newcomers on the GH set will always get a happy welcome from Michael E. Knight (Martin). It’s a lesson he learned from his former All My Children co-star Peter Bergman (Jack, YR), who played Cliff when he was Tad the Cad on the now-defunct ABC soap.

True’s Story
DAYS alumna True O’Brien (ex-Paige) constantly gets asked about her ethnicity and, frankly, it’s irritating. Nevertheless, she opens up about the subject and her roots.
