Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
After a five-month break, Greg Vaughan returns to Days of our Lives for another run as Eric Brady on Monday, December 27. The actor, who last aired in July, will play a pivotal role in the soap’s demonic possession storyline, now that Eric has returned to the priesthood.
Eileen Davidson is back for another appearance as the devil’s incarnation of Kristen DiMera, this week. The soap opera character will attempt to stir up trouble for another Salemite.
Remington Hoffman resurfaces as Li Shin, the son of the DiMera Enterprises’ board member, Wei Shin. He’ll appear in scenes opposite Camila Banus’ Gabi Hernandez and Brandon Barash’s Jake DiMera, among others.
Meanwhile, Jay Kenneth Johnson has wrapped up his latest stint as Philip Kiriakis. The character left town to receive mental counseling, after his plot to frame Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) for his “murder.”
Over at General Hospital, Heather Mazur has been playing Deputy Mayor Eileen Ashby. The duplicitous soap opera character is an associate of mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and co-conspirator of Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). Mazor portrayed Brenda Brecheen on The Young and the Restless back in 2019. Her primetime credits include Good Trouble and Tacoma FD.
Another child actor has been replaced. Scarlett Fernandez is out as Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) daughter, Charlotte Cassadine, a role she’s played since 2016. Daytime newcomer Amelie McClain has taken over the part on the soap opera. McClain’s credits include the 2020 horror film Transference.
On The Bold and the Beautiful, there’s a new staff member at Il Giardino. Abdur Wyatt begins airing as the establishment’s newest bartender on Wednesday, December 29.
Hunter King popped back in as Summer Newman Abbott via a phone call with her TV father Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) on The Young and the Restless, last week. Meanwhile, Nick mentioned flying to Italy to see his daughter and her husband. Does that mean the show is planning another appearance by King and perhaps even Michael Mealor (Kyle), this week? Stay tuned…
