It looks like Valentin Cassadine’s daughter is returning to General Hospital Tuesday — but she will look different. Scarlett Fernandez, the young actress we’ve watched grow before our eyes since her 2016 debut has announced that she has been replaced in the role.
Scarlett Fernandez Bids Fans Goodbye
The young star took to her Instagram account to reveal the big news to her fans. “I’m super grateful for the opportunity that [executive producer Frank Valentini] and [casting director Mark Teschner] gave me in 2016,” she began, alongside an image of herself standing near a sign directing people to the GH stage — a great way to mark how much she’s grown.
That’s because, in the previous post, Fernandez showed the first time she posed by it — and you can see how much taller she is. The actress had more to say on her departure adding, “Playing Charlotte Cassadine was my favorite and I’m sad it’s come to an end. I will miss my castmates and the crew and I know the fans will support the new actor playing Charlotte.”
GH fans have adored the young star, even though her character was the class bully (poor Aiden Spencer!) because she always spiced up the action — like when she hid a snake in Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) purse when she brought the slithering pet to Violet Finn’s (Jophielle Love) birthday party. The daughter of Lulu Spencer Falconeri (Emme Rylan) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) certainly knew how to get what she wanted and Fernandez excelled in the part.

The Internet was buzzing earlier this year when the young actress posted on Instagram how much she loved being on GH. “You have no idea how happy this made me!” Fernandez said posing in front of the GH studio building. “I love this place, I LOVE the people, and I love being Charlotte. It’s been 5 years of playing her and I have loved every day! #scarlettischarlotte.”
While the actress didn’t explain what happened, a recent GH Fantasy Event with her character’s papa, Stuart, may have revealed a clue as he shared with the audience gathered that Fernandez and her family had moved away from California to a farm where she was able to get a horse — just like Charlotte. Scarlett Fernandez was filled with gratitude for her GH experience, ending her post by saying, “Thank you for all the support! #scarlettischarlotte #gh”
