On The Young and the Restless, Kyle Abbott and Summer Newman go way back. They even managed to celebrate Thanksgiving together in their younger years, and now they’re married. We’re so thankful for this couple.
Young and the Restless — Kyle and Summer
We’ll probably never get over Y&R letting Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) get married off-screen. Despite that, we’ve adored the small snippets we’ve gleaned from what Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) shared about the details. We can almost see Summer forgetting her bouquet and running back to get it (too bad we didn’t actually get to see it).
Although the actors are no longer on contract, we hold out hope that Summer and Kyle will soon make their way back to Genoa City with the adorable Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) in tow.
If you’re a long-time viewer, you might remember that Summer’s mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), wasn’t sure whether Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) or Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was her father. At one point, they even worried that Kyle might be Summer’s brother, which made their growing romantic relationship potentially complicated.
Thankfully, it all worked out in the end, and Nick got to claim his Super Girl for his own daughter. That storyline paved the way for a long relationship with plenty of ups and downs for Summer and Kyle.
Let Them Eat Cake
In their earlier years, Samantha Bailey portrayed Summer, and Garrett Ryan portrayed Kyle. Kyle and Summer share a unique Thanksgiving meal that consists of steak after missing the big dinner in the sweet clip below. Both Jack and Diane Jenkins (Maura West) eat the tasty dinner with the two children. Then, Summer and Kyle rushed to grab the big cake they had for dessert. Check out the sweet flashback scene below.
Let us know what you’re thankful for this year in the comments below. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
